Saving Robert

Chapter fifteen

Christine did not know what was happening but she knew her heart was in her mouth. The monster growled and she flinched but continued running. The school court was right infront of her she could see the door but the most unexpected thing happened. The monster jumped in front of her and raised the side of his lips in a smirk. Her heart flew out of her chest. She inhaled and exhaled feeling tired. No this was not going to happen. She wasn't going to get stuck again. If Carolyn could summon her power. Then she can also do it. She raised her hands up and pionted it at the monster.

" Out." She shouted but nothing happened. The monsters smirk grew wider And then ran towards her. Christine screamed in fear and she used her hands to block her face. She braced herself for the attack. A moment passed and Christine still waited for the hit but nothing happened. Something was going to happen. But nothing was happening. She put down her hands little by little and gasped on seeing what she had done. She stared at her hands and at the monster. The monster was frozen ice. And it was four feet of the ground.

What the hell just happened. Nevertheless the monster was out of the way. She ran into the court room and met Arthur already standing with dodge balls in his hands.

"How come you got here before me". She asked and Arthur smiled out in relief.

" Great. I thought you were already dead. What of Carolyn". Arthur asked ignoring her question.

"I don't know but she should be here any minute". Christine answered and almost immediately Carolyn ran in and shouted.

"Duck".

"Duck". Christine and Arthur asked.

"Duck". Carolyn shouted again.

Carolyn bent immediately and Arthur saw the monster behind her carrying something that looked so heavy and yet so lenghty it could take out five people at once. And oh my God it was directed at them. Without thinking he pushed Christine down and the metal flew passed their head and collided with the wall.

Christine groaned. "Get your f*****g weight of me". Arthur stood up and Christine also stood up.

They all looked at the monster.

"Hey Scott want to play dodge ball".

Arthur asked and the monster turned confused.

Carolyn gasped. "That's a good idea". She remembered how she had ended up injuring her entire class with the ball. "It might not kill the monster but at least it would weaken it".

Christine and Arthur both picked up a ball and Carolyn prepared her hands. If she could just control the ball in the direction of the monster. Almost like the monster knew what they were up to. It charged.

Christine threw the first ball then another and Arthur did the same. But the monster only seemed to groan and continue.

"Anytime now Carolyn we can't keep up". Christine shouted at Carolyn who kept on concentrating on her hands.

"Aaaah" Christine let out a scream as the monster threw a three seater chair at her.

She dodged it at the last second and she felt the breeze that came with the chair blow at her. God that was close.

"Are you crazy Carolyn do that s**t now or I'll be the one killing you". Christine shouted as the monster lunched at her again.

"Gosh why isn't it fighting you". She shouted at Arthur who looked in different but continued throwing the balls.

"I got it". Carolyn shouted. "You guys get out of the way". Arthur and Christine both ran to the left and Carolyn started throwing the ball at the monster. They both watched as the balls flew at an incredible amount of speed. Carolyn's hand disappeared and it looked like she had no hands. Her hands looked like a whirlwind.

The monster growled in pain and finally it gave up and fell down before turning into dust. Arthur and Christine came out if their hiding place.

" Now that that's settled, do we find Robert". Arthur said.

"God my hands are killing me". Carolyn muttered rubbing her arm.

Christine scoffed. "Took you long enough."

"Hey I tried okay. Don't put the blame on me. I could have also died okay". Carolyn replied and

Christine rolled her eyes. "Where do you guys think Robert might be". Arthur asked.

"Well that's the problem cause the weird boy could be anywhere. The link is not going through".

The court room door opened and Gareth came in. The trios all stared at him and Gareth stared back at them.

"What's going on here".

Arthur and Carolyn both looked at Christine to give him and explanation.

"What!", don't look at me I don't know what to say". Christine answered and looked away.

" by the way I saw the new kid going out of school, someone should have told him school was not yet over just thought you might want to know". Gareth said.

"wait, did you say you saw Robert, going out of school". Carolyn asked and Gareth nodded. "What are you guys doing here anyway".

"Guys we need to go". Arthur said and ran out. Carolyn followed and Christine walked towards Gareth.

"I'm sorry, I promise I'll tell you everything when I get back". With that said Christine pecked his cheek and ran out in the direction Carolyn and Arthur went through.

Gareth sighed. "Well at least she wasn't angry at him anymore". He looked around the court room. The room was a mess. And what the hell where they doing here in the first place. He went out the way he came and headed to class, they've missed two lectures already.

They stopped at the school gate.

"How do we get rid of the securities." Christine asked . Carolyn looked at the men dressed in uniforms that patrolled the gate every now and then like they were expecting a strike.

"We have to find some kind of distractions".

Arthur scoffed. "Look around you Carolyn, there's nothing here but a field of grass".
