Chapter 14

The next morning, Ken headed to Alice after his training to take her to school. Ken knocked on the door, but there was no response. He knocked again, still nothing. Ken dialed her number and called Alice. "He- hello?" A groggy man's voice sounded from the other line. "I'm here to pick you up for school but you must be sick since you apparently sound like a man." Ken replied, annoyed. Alice grabbed the phone from Devon, " hey honey, sorry I was in the bathroom room." She responded. " Are you going to open the door and explain why there's a man this early in the morning??" Ken asked coldly.

After hanging up, Alice opened the door to find an extremely angry Ken standing outside. Behind Alice was Devon walking towards the door to leave. "And what are you doing at my girlfriend's this early in the morning??" Ken asked as he grabbed Devon by the collar. " Ken, honey, I need someone to come help me change the lightbulb. I'm too short and couldn't reach. " Alice replied. " Don't you have a boyfriend for that?" Ken scolded. "Yes, but I couldn't do my makeup so it was an emergency and he just happened to be walking by." Alice replied calmly. Releasing Devon's collar, Ken didn't push any further. The three walked to school in silence.

Right before lunch, Kyle got a call from the hospital. Worried, he answered quickly. After hearing what the doctor called for, he froze, his phone fell to the floor. Noticing Kyle wasn't coming back into class, Eric stepped out to see what was going on. "Dude, Kyle, helloooo? " Eric tried to get his attention, his phone on the floor, his eyes empty. Eric grabbed Kyle and shook him. " What's going on?" Eric asked. Kyle was still frozen. Hearing a voice, Eric looked down at the phone and saw the hospital was still on the line. " Hello? Kyle. Did you hear me?" The doctor was asking as Eric put the phone to his ear. " I don't know what you told him, but the guy is blank as a statue right now. " Eric tried to explain.

" Well, about three hours ago Eliza started having seizures, we almost lost her a couple of times. She seems stable now. I'm sorry I couldn't call sooner but the priority was to stabilize her first,"the doctor explained. "Ah I see, but Eliza is stable NOW, right? Eric asked loudly, trying to snap Kyle out of it. After hanging up the phone, Eric looked at Kyle. "Dude, I can't carry you, so if you don't snap out of it I'll go to Eliza by myself. "Eric tried to taunt him. "NO" came out of Kyle's mouth, his eyes turning brighter in color. "Okay Thomas, let's go, I'll drive. '' Eric started realizing Kyle wasn't going to be back anytime soon.

Not even waiting for Eric to park, Thomas jumps out of the car and runs to Eliza's room. Seeing Eliza lying there looking peaceful, Kyle finally regained his senses. "Thank you Thomas, I was too weak…" he said to his Wolf. Seeing Eliza okay and taking in her scent helped Kyle relax. As Eric walked in, he saw Kyle sitting in the chair next to her bed holding her hand. Eliza's hand twitched as she tightened her grasp on Kyle's hand. Realizing there was actually strength holding his hand, Kyle's eyes grew wide as he looked up at Eliza. Eliza was trying to move, trying to wake up. Her eyes kept fluttering until she realized she didn't have the strength to open them, and her grip on Kyle loosened. " No!!!" Kyle screamed, fearing she might have given up.

"We are still here." Tia mind linked Kyle. " Where's Eliza? Is she okay??" Kyle started to worry. " Calm down, she will be fine. We were almost fully healed until something strange entered our bodies through the IV. I think it might have been wolfsbane. Tell the doctor to run a check." Tia explained to Kyle. "I'm still too weak, and Eliza locked herself in, so we can't move the body right now. But she will be fine. I need to rest more and focus on healing again." Tia said as the link cut off. Kyle looked Eric concerned in his eyes. " Can you please grab the doctor?" Kyle asked. "Did you need something?" The doctor asked as he entered with Eric. "Her wolf. She asked me to ask you to please test her for wolfsbane. She thinks it was injected through the IV…." Kyle asked in a solemn tone.

Honestly, we feared that as well, so we immediately changed it and sent it for testing. We had to wait until she could still be able to draw blood for testing. " The doctor replied, holding the test results in his hands. As the doctor was handing over the test results to Kyle, Ken came running with fear shown across his face. Ken intercepted the results and read them over. After reading the paper, Ken lifelessly fell to his knees and dropped the papers. "I'll have to stay with her until she wakes up. Her parents won't be back for another week." Ken hesitated. "Wrong!" Kyle shouted. " You need to get back to your own girlfriend. Eric and I can take shifts guarding Eliza. Sadly, I don't think we can trust anyone at the moment. " Kyle adds. As Ken tried to get word out, Eric stopped him. " Kyle doesn't mean this in a mean way. Just if this was her work, as you think, you need to stay by her side to keep her away from Eliza." Eric mentioned.

Ken made it back in time to school and Alice didn't notice he had left. Like usual, Ken walked around with Alice for a while before taking her home. Once they got to Alice's house, they went to the table to start on their homework together. As Ken started on his homework, Alice made them dinner. Alice always tried to get Ken to eat her food or drink anything at her house. He just replied that he had to be strict on his intake and meal times, so he could politely refuse. His constant refusals didn't matter, she wouldn't stop trying. She kept putting potions in his food to try and control him. After Ken finished his homework, he leaned over to help Alice with hers. She was a grade below her, so he knew all about her curriculum. Although Alice kept playing dumb to try to stay with him longer.

They finished way later than usual and Ken was tired. He asked if he could crash on her couch. Alice nodded her head, excited, maybe something would happen! Alice showered and put on her most intimate night clothes and laid in bed hoping he would come in.
