His face still plastered in stone, his voice slightly calmer.             “Awaken? It’s nearly been three months, has she still not healed yet?” The concern in his voice was evident and the sadness in his eyes struck a chord in the elderly woman. She nodded her head and watched the tears he had been holding back come forth.             “Please I just want to see her…I beg you…” She was about to protest when a man appeared in the doorway.             “Let him pass Seraphina.”             “Yes, Sir.” The women parted allowing him to pass. His face twisted in anger and sadness. Slamming the man against the door frame. Seraphina moves to remove him, when a low calm hand tells her not to.             “HOW DARE YOU! You bastard! How dare you!? You link me yelling that she had been attacked, then you kill your tracker and disappear for months without a single word! You accused the Council of trying to kill her, and disappear with my SISTER! I have been looking for you for weeks!”             “You know why…” He said removing the man’s hands from his throat. “I owe you nothing. The day you showed your face, she was attacked and nearly mauled to death by a mutt carrying your scent! So friend or not, the Council sent it.” He watched as the man’s face swelled with anger. His wolf was raging inside him. He looked from me to the bed where the small lump remain motionless.             “Asto…” His voice cracked before tears rolled down his face. He looked at his little sister. Her pale skin and slim frame. He ached to touch her. His wolf whimpered at the sight. He probed her mind looking for any sign. Her wolf timidly acknowledges his presence. She rubbed against his mind. He stepped back and looked a Noah. “She..her…”             “I know…It’s how we have been monitoring her mental state. Her wolf has been keeping us informed on her progress. They stopped giving her the sedatives a few days ago.” He walked over and sat next to her bed reaching for her hand. “She should be waking up anytime. You can feel her, can’t you?” Ezra nodded looking at the bandage on her shoulder. From underneath the smell of sterile medication pierced his noise. He could she the stitches holding the skin together. “So that is how you found us. Few know of this places existence. You do kindly and keep it to yourself.” His voice was low.             “As long as she is safe and I can remain here, this place is safe.” He looked out into the courtyard watching the pups chase after each other. It would have been a beautiful place, had they not been there for such a horrid reason. The sun danced on their coats, as the frolicked in the tall grass. He glanced back at Tori and sat under the window sill. Thinking of how this could have happened. He began questioning everything he had every considered to be true. Did the Council have ill-intentions? How would he be able to face his little sister again if he had put her in danger? What should he do?
