Her body is so frail and lifeless. The color has drained from her face her body is slowing but she has lost so much of it. My eyes are burning, my tears hit her cheeks. That child! He could have killed her! EZRA! GET YOUR ASS HERE NOW! Tori has been attacked! Who the hell sent you?
What do you mean attacked?
I am assuming your companion! I don’t care what you came for if she dies the Council will pay! I felt him yelling, I blocked his link I have to get her to safety. I felt my wolf whimper as he felt his mates heart slowing. My hands cover in blood and fur from ripping that half breed off her, shaking as the cling to her. Running as fast as I can to the house. I grab my cell and dial the only number I know will help.
“You have to help us! Please! She has lost so much, so much blood.”
“We’ll be there soon.” Click. This is unacceptable, what are they doing? I thought they wanted her powers, not her death. That untrained rookie could have killed her. She looked so terrified. Her wolf is not strong enough to shift yet. Her powers are not fully awakened. They will pay for this. I will make sure of it.
…
The light crept slowly across a sterile white floor. White blinds opened up into a densely wooded courtyard area. Tubes feed into the lump on the bed a feeding tube plunged down its throat a monitor beeps everything its heart beats. The bed angled in the corner surrounded by blue light candles. A slumped over figure huddles in the corner, observing, just watching every breathe and tick in the machine. Hooded figures slipping in and out of the room administering large doses of medications. Occasionally a woman in a floor length black robe would walk in like a white candle, chant a spell and blow the smoke into room. From the corner he watched making sure her chested still moved. Sometimes she would stop and he would go into instant panic. Flashbacks of the witches telling him that her body had went into shock from the attack. Them telling him that she was place in a coma to help her heal.
They stopped giving her the drug that held her inside her consciousness a few days ago. But they keep telling me it is up to her for, if, and when she will wake up. My wolf stirs feeling his mate. Their bond has grown in the months past. She has remained aware of time, and comforted us as she heals. I clench the blankets looking down at her. She is so small. Her hair clumped in a messy braid I had tried. Her face sunken in. The glow from the sun had faded. She looked so pale and sickly his stomach wrenched at the sight of her. How he begged her to wake up. Just to smile her perfect smile and warm his body. Her hands remained cold to the touch. He kissed each finger and placed her hand over his heart. Reaching out to her mind, pressing through the fog. He begged her. Tori please…I need you to wake up. Outside in the hall, a voice rung out clearly. The anger filled the room. I dreaded him finding her. I wanted to rip him limb from limb. I wished for nothing more.
