Miller huffed, "You're just bragging. Everyone knows you're blind now. How could you take back the family business?" Megan couldn't stand this clown anymore. She strode toward him and pushed him out of the garden, slamming the door in his face. Megan had been living a miserable life ever since her mom and grandparents passed away. Her stepmother and stepsister had been abusing her, but Miller had never even bothered to protect her. And he always wanted to gain something from Megan or by marrying Megan to a wealthy family. Megan was used to his father's attitude, but she couldn't bear to see he humiliate Ivan! She slammed the iron gate too hard. The wire got her hand, making her bleed. Megan took in a sharp breath. Ivan noticed it instantly. He thought his wife must have hurt herself. Ivan wanted to check out on her but he walked too fast. Tripped by a stone, the blind man fell over. Megan hurried to help him up. She didn't care about her wounds, but seeing Ivan getting hurt broke her heart. "I'm okay…" Ivan grunted as he stood up under Megan's help, "Are you alright?" Megan sniffed and forced her tears back, shaking her head. May had been standing by and watching. Megan noticed her. So she gestured at the woman, trying to ask May to bring her medical kit for her. Ivan's just landed on the ground by his palms. His fingers were scraped and bleeding. Megan wanted to clean and wrap them up. Seeing the anxious look on Megan's face, May raised an eyebrow, "I don't know what you're trying to say, mute. I've never learned any freaking sign language." "May," Ivan said with a deep and threatening voice, "Stacy is my wife. How could you talk to her that way?" He didn't raise his voice, but the tone was already terrifying enough. May rolled her eyes, "Mr. Hendrix, you're blind and your wife is mute. As much as I want to fulfil my duty, how can I follow your instructions when I can't even understand your instructions." "If you can't understand our instructions, just get out of the house," Ivan raised his voice and said coldly, one finger pointing out. May huffed. But she didn't talk back this time. Ivan's intimidating aura overwhelmed her. She was a bit scared and hided inside the house. … Ivan held Megan in his arms. Touching the scars and wounds on the back of her hand, the man frowned, "Don't worry, baby. They won't treat us like this forever. I promise." Megan squeezed his hand back. She didn't care about this at all. As long as she was still with this man, she was the happiest woman in this world. She didn't care about how other people treated them. They went back to their room. Megan fetched her kit and took care of Ivan's wounds. They had been hurt constantly these days. May and Lee were not that reliable after all. She must find a way to communicate with Ivan without other people's help. Megan went downstairs to make Ivan some herbal soup. But the smell of the soup somehow made her feel nauseous. Weird, the soup tastes bitter but it always smelt great. Megan thought she was having a stomach problem, but suddenly, she remembered her period was late this month… She went to the bathroom instantly and felt her own pulse. It felt weird because Megan seldom felt her own pulse. Ivan heard the noise. He raised up from the bed instantly and groped his way toward the bathroom, "What's wrong, sweetheart? Why did you come back?" Megan looked up at her husband, eyes filled with surprise. She couldn't believe what her pulse just told her… "Stacy?" Noticing Megan didn't make any response, Ivan got a bit anxious, "Are you okay?" Megan stood up and supported Ivan with her arms, burying her head in his chest. She hated that she was mute. She wished she could tell this good news to her husband by herself. They had a baby! "What happened, Stacy? Are you okay? Are you sick?" Ivan sounded so worried. Megan shook her head and put one of his hands on her belly. Ivan could see her silhouette under the dim light as she shook her head and gestured at him. She looked anxious and happy at the same time as if she had some good news to tell him. Ivan felt her flat belly as a big smile broke his face, "Honey… are you pregnant?" Megan nodded, eyes filled with tears. Ivan laughed as he dipped his head to kiss her hair again and again, "Oh my god… You're a gift from heaven. You make my life so happy! I wanted to witness our baby coming to this world with my own eyes. From now on, I'll fight for both of you!" Megan was trembling with excitement and joy. Yet the name Ivan had been calling was still Stacy. She didn't know what would happen after she gave birth to their baby. She only knew she would shrine this moment and keep it in her memories forever. Whatever was going to happen in the future, Ivan was hers right now. Now she even had his child. She didn't have too much to ask…
