Inside the War Room Jericho watched as the starship retaliated by firing its own plasma railgun.
The plasma rounds were large and on target, not to mention deadly. When they hit the ground above the energy was transferred directly into the ground. It destroyed the top layer of soil and whatever was covering the base in twin explosions from both rounds. Soil and debris were sent flying high into the air as the base’s cover was chipped away. Soon Jericho knew that his base would be uncovered and vulnerable to attack.
On the screens showing the outside world he saw the ships leaving the starship heading right for them.
“Here come the troops, typical playbook,” he said, “I could’ve written this attack myself.”
There were a few of his men with him in the War Room while the rest hunted down
