12 The world outside the station was shut down. It amazed Mackenzie as she drove home to see how few things were open. Restaurants, stores, even gas stations were closed. It was like the city had turned into a ghost town. When she arrived at her apartment complex, the parking lots were a mess. Plows had been through, but most of the parking spaces were occupied with cars buried under six or more feet of snow.
