What am I going to say? Will I tell him that I spent the night at Cain’s place? That would be so unfair to him. It isn’t my fault. It’s Cain’s fault. When he finally got closer, he said, “I waited all night long for you. Am I that bad of a person?” he asked, and my heart sank at his words. I hate hearing him say things like this. I don’t want him to think he isn’t good enough. I’m the one who isn’t good enough for him. “I’m sorry, Zane. Last night something came up… I—” “It’s fine. I don’t want to hear it. Now that you’re here, I want to show you something,” he said instead, catching me off guard.
