Words of the king
Prince Mitinge was summoned by the king to his chambers. Since it is unusual of the king, the prince rushed to see his father.
"Father, you sent for me. What is the matter?"
"I want to know if you are ready and willing to sit on the throne after I have joined my ancestors."
"What do you mean father? You have been grooming me for this purpose all my life. Why do you ask this suddenly?"
"I know we've been preparing you for this but you have to perform some tasks before you can become the next king."
"Father, is it about me taking a wife? ( The king nods his head) Not this topic again. I can't believe you didn't sleep by this time all because of this! I told you father : I haven't seen the one after my heart yet. When I do, I shall do the needful."
"But son, I am getting old and weak. You need to have a bride before you can be crowned."
"Don't worry father. You won't die now. Take care of the throne for now. I beg to take my leave. I shall see you tomorrow. Rest well, great king!"
The prince hurries out of the King's chamber to escape more talks on the topic of getting a bride. After his exit, his mother, queen Zabifa, emerged from her room.
"My husband, the ruler of this great kingdom! Don't worry yourself over this. Like our son said, when the time comes, he shall do the needful. I believe he hasn't seen the one yet, for when he does, no one needs to tell him to get married."
"Well, I guess you are right. I shall wait and see. I just pray and hope that it doesn't become too late for him."
"It seems your majesty has forgotten when you were young. You were rumored to not be interested in marriage and therefore stayed away from the maidens that expressed interest in you. You were just like your son but here we are."
(The king smiles at his wife) You are always right my queen. I shall not worry any more."
