POLICE AND MEDIA HELICOPTERS scoured the area where Henry’s vehicle was last seen being driven. But it had disappeared like an apparition.
‘How the f**k can we lose it that fast?’ asked one of the first responders.
‘Yeah, I know what you mean. We were here in less than three minutes,’ said another uniformed officer, turning to his partner.
How indeed?
Within two minutes, Henry managed to hide the car in plain sight. He just drove around the block and parked in the driveway of a house not far from the shopping strip. The mall’s overhanging roof had obscured part the road leading to it from the helicopter above. It was the perfect place to wait it out.
