Ace Sabrina Hime POV
This stranger, how long does he plan to just stare? It’s so boring. Okay, so he’s handsome, tall, and has red hair – unusual for a guy. But I’m really sleepy now. I don’t want to keep looking at him. Tsk.
“Excuse me, sir. What’s your name and where are you from?”
I tried to wake him from his daze.
“I’m Ice Xavier. I’m from Crystal Academy,” he replied. Wait, he said he’s from Crystal Academy? Shouldn’t he have said he came from his mother’s womb? Oh, never mind. He seems a bit weird.
“Why are you here?” I asked, even though some silly thoughts were running through my mind. I kept my expression emotionless.
“I’m here for a mission. I’m looking for a woman named Mellisian,” he said.
“Aunt? But why?” I thought to myself but didn’t show it.
“Who gave you this mission?” I asked again.
“Our headmaster, Alisha,” he replied.
I just nodded. Good, Aunt’s leaving. No more witch to bother me, hehe.
I mentally celebrated but didn’t say it out loud. I’d lose my cool.
Tsk, I went back to the tree where I planned to sleep.
Ice Xavier POV
Why did she suddenly turn away?
What’s on her mind? Argh, it’s frustrating. I can’t read her.
Who is she?
I couldn’t help but feel curious and followed her. I wanted to ask her questions.
Wait, where are you going? Are you—
I stopped talking when she suddenly stopped in front of a big tree.
“I’m not Mellisian. You should rest and take care of your pet so you can regain your energy. And if you don’t mind, let me sleep and rest. I’ll accompany you when we find the person you’re looking for. I know where she is,” she said.
She then jumped onto the tree. I had no choice but to shake my head.
She’s mysterious.
I muttered to myself and sat down beside the tree where the woman with golden hair was now sleeping.
Headmaster said Ms. Mellisian was alone in this magical forest, but if what this woman said was true that she’s not the one I’m looking for, why is she here in this forest and not affected by the magic of this place? Who is she really? Argh, why am I so affected by this woman when we just met?
Tsk, I guess I just need to let her rest.
Ace Sabrina Hime POV
I woke up to the sound of a bird chirping. Argh, so annoying.
Since I was already awake and I don’t go back to sleep once I wake up, I got up. It was already afternoon, and I needed to go back to where Aunt and I lived.
When I saw the stranger still sleeping under the tree, I decided to wake him up.
“Stranger, wake up. We’re leaving,” I said, patting his shoulder lightly. But he seemed to be in a deep sleep.
I sat on his chest and leaned closer to his face. How do I wake this guy up? Should I poke his nose or burn his butt? Or maybe drown him? What should I do?
While thinking about how to wake him up, I didn’t realize I was staring at him and our faces were close.
Then, slowly, he opened his eyes.
We stared at each other for a moment.
“You took so long to wake up,” I said coldly and stood up. He did the same but kept staring at me.
“Tsk, get ready, your pet and you. We’re going to Mellisian,” I said and turned away.
He went to his horse and prepared it.
As we were walking, she suddenly grabbed my wrist. I was startled.
“What are you doing, woman?” I asked, but she just placed her other hand on my wrist, and it glowed. When she let go, the glow disappeared. I felt something wrap around my wrist.
A golden bracelet.
I muttered to myself and looked at her.
“Why did you give me this bracelet?” I asked.
“It’s your protection so you won’t feel the same pain as before you came here,” she replied coldly.
So, she really was powerful.
“Let’s go. Mellisian has been waiting for us,” she said and started walking. I had no choice but to follow.
As we walked, I looked around the forest. It seemed like a simple forest, but it was very magical.
If she hadn’t given me that protection, I would have been weak right now.
Headmaster was right. This place is very magical.
But why is this woman here? Is she the guardian of this place?
Who is she really?
Ace Xavier’s POV:
After a short walk through the forest, we arrived at a vast clearing. In the middle stood a crystal-like palace. I couldn’t believe there was such a beautiful place here.
“The one you’re looking for is inside that house,” the woman said, continuing to walk. We entered the home of the runer I was searching for.
A huge living room greeted us. I don’t even need to mention how beautiful it was. My eyes wandered around and landed on a woman standing in front of the window. She was turned away, as if gazing out at something. Her hair was a long, golden brown.
“Your visitor is here from the Crystal Academy,” said a woman, emotionless, now seated on a sofa.
The woman turned around, and I was certain it was Mellisian. I remembered my master’s warning about her crystal-like eyes.
She was staring at the woman on the sofa, as if they were communicating telepathically. But it was only for a moment. Then she looked at me, and it felt like she was scanning my abilities as a runer.
“Young man, you’re from the Firo clan of the Fire Kingdom,” she said.
“Yes, but how did you know?” I asked.
“Because of the symbol on your left shoulder,” she replied.
I realized then that part of my clothing must have been damaged, revealing my symbol as a Firo of the Fire Kingdom.
“Why did you seek me out?” she asked.
"Headmaster Alisha sent me from the Crystal Academy. She said there’s an important matter we need to discuss," I replied, pausing for a moment.
“In that case, we should probably return to the academy. That way, we won’t be caught in the dark,” Mellisian said, and I nodded.
She approached the woman on the sofa and they began talking, but I couldn't understand the language they were using.
Ace Sabrina Hime’s POV:
"Hime, why does he have your golden bracelet?"
"I knew you’d ask that," I said. "He has my golden eye, my real golden eye."
"Why? What happened?"
"I was mad. He tried to dirty my spring. You know how I am, Aunt."
"I know, sometimes you’re a bit careless."
"What? No! Aunt, I was tired because of your training. I haven’t had a break."
"So it’s my fault?" I retorted.
She rolled her eyes. "That protection will only last for two weeks. If you’re careless, he shouldn’t take it off. If he does, he could die."
I nodded, my tone cold. "If that’s the case, then we’ll leave. Don’t worry. I’ll take care of that young man to make sure he doesn’t remove the protection you gave him."
"I’m not worried, Aunt. He wouldn’t let anything bad happen to him, especially not while he’s at the Crystal Academy."
"Alright, Hime. We’re leaving. Don’t be naughty, and remember what I told you."
"Yes, Aunt, I know."
I hugged her and then we approached the young man who seemed lost in thought, listening to our conversation.
"Son, let’s go outside. We need to return to the Academy," my aunt said. He nodded and we all went outside.
The young man approached his horse, and my aunt called for hers. "I’ll leave you here, daughter. Be careful and don’t forget my instructions."
"Again with the warnings," I muttered. "If there weren’t other runers here, I would have been naughty already."
"Yeah, I will," I said as I watched him ride away. Then I turned to the other young man, who had been watching me. "Thanks," he said, nodding. I simply nodded in response and turned away.
*"What a runer," I muttered to myself as I entered the house.
Finally, I’m alone here. Solo life is the best life.
I immediately went up to my room to rest. I’m still sleepy.
"I missed you, you know that, right?" I whispered to my bed as I lay down.
Finally, I can sleep.
Suddenly, I heard the chirping of a bird. "Ugh, so annoying," I grumbled, sitting up. I felt like someone was watching me. I looked around and noticed something on my window.
It was dark outside.
"It’s already dark," I murmured, walking towards the window. I noticed a rolled-up object on the windowsill. I approached it and realized it was a letter. I looked around and saw a small, dark bird flying away. I was sure it was the one that delivered the letter.
*"I wonder who this is from," I thought to myself, shrugging my shoulders. I opened the letter and read:
"I keep my eyes on you. I can’t wait to see you soon, HIME. Be ready. Moon."
*"Tsk, whoever sent this really wasted their effort," I muttered. "See you if you find me."
