Chapter 20

1622 Words
Sandra's POV We're finally here at our dorm with Percyuna and Calex. Since they're new members of the royalty, they'll be staying here with us in our dorm. After the meeting at Ms. Mellesian's office, we came straight here to prepare. "It's been a while since we've all been together like this," Alira said. "Yeah, I'm excited," Aira replied. "It's a bonus that we have new companions," I said. Alira and I were in my room. They had already finished packing their things for the mission. As for the things I might need, I don't know everything they require, so they'll borrow from me, Leander, or Dustine. These two are too lazy to bring their own things. "By the way, Sandra, you have the ability to sense danger from a mage, right?" Aira suddenly asked while rummaging through my things. That girl is something else. I closed the door of my room before answering her question. The three of us were the only ones inside. "I don't sense anything from the three of them, not even their powers. Luna's, I can sometimes feel because she can't control it, so I can't tell if Calex is dangerous. I don't sense any power from him, even though he possesses thunder and lightning. Maybe in the Ice Kingdom, they were taught to hide the strength of their powers. But Percy has something different. There's something about him that I can't explain. Absolutely nothing, not even a hint of his power, and even his presence is something I can't feel. He's even more elusive than the unmoving water and wind. I don't understand," I explained at length. Aira nodded. "That's what I feel too. I don't understand. It's like Percy is too different." She said, "Calex and Percy both came from the Ice Kingdom, right? But it's like they don't know each other." Alira chimed in. Aira and I looked at her. Wow, a miracle! This girl actually knows how to observe. "I think we still need to be careful. Remember Sabrina's last words to us: 'Don't trust anyone, not even the most important person in your life.'" I said. "Yeah," Alira and Aira replied. "Wait, what happened to you and Dustine underground? Why were you unconscious?" I suddenly asked Alira. We haven't had a chance to ask her about what happened after she fell into the ravine in the Crystal Forest. "When I fell, I tried to use my wind power, but it didn't work. It was like something was blocking it. I tried to land properly so I wouldn't get hurt, but the ravine was too deep. When I fell, I still lost my balance and fell. I hit the ground and lost consciousness. But before I completely lost consciousness, I saw a figure of a woman. She helped me sit up properly and even treated some of my wounds, but I couldn't see her face, but the color of her hair was gold, it was so beautiful and shiny. I remember she said something. She said, 'I'm always here, I won't leave you.' The woman who helped me had such a gentle voice. Until I felt a terrible dizziness and before I could even close my eyes, she said something else and smiled. The figure of the woman said, 'He's coming.' That was the last thing she said and I completely lost consciousness. I only felt myself rising from the ground and there were roots wrapped around me," Alira explained at length. Aira and I exchanged glances, both thinking the same thing. So there was another mage at that time, but who was it? Why didn't Dustine know that there was another mage besides him who saved Alira? "Dustine didn't know?" Aira uddenly asked. Alira shook her head. "He didn't know because when I asked him, Dustine said that he was the only one there and that he didn't see any other mage besides the monster he fought." The three of us became silent. Who could that mage be We were in the middle of thinking when someone knocked on the door of my room. Knock knock knock I immediately stood up from my seat and opened the door. When I opened the door, I was greeted by Leander, who was smiling widely, with a dog-like smile. This guy is at it again. "Honey," he said to me. I widened my eyes at him. This guy is really crazy. "Hey Leander, what do you mean by 'honey' to Sandra?" Alira suddenly appeared behind me. Leander's dog-like smile disappeared and was replaced by a poker face. Haha, I want to laugh at his expression when he saw Aira and Alira behind me. "What 'honey' are you talking about, Alira? I just said it's important that the three of you go downstairs because you're the only ones they're waiting for in the living room and there's something to talk about regarding our royalty mission," Leander explained. He even managed to get away with it. "Oh, really? Okay, let's go then," Alira replied, seemingly unconvinced by what Leander said. She even looked at Aira. Aira just shrugged and shook her head while looking at Leander and me. I suddenly felt nervous when she gave us a teasing smile and deliberately passed between Leander and me. "Let's go, 'honey.' We're really late," Aira said, emphasizing the word "honey." She even cut off the last part of the word. I knew it. Alira is really slow sometimes in the group. I wish she had just infected Aira with her slowness. I'm sure she wouldn't stop teasing us. We all went down to the living room together, and my suspicion was correct. This guy was just making excuses. I glanced at Aira and Alira, not knowing what to expect. Alira was giving Liander such a nasty look, it was like she wanted to devour him alive. "Hey Liander," Alira sa id, hands on her hips and looking fierce, "you said we were the only three left to wait for here in the living room. Where are they, huh?" I knew Alira wouldn't let Liander's nonsense slide. "How should I know? Maybe they got impatient," the jerk lied... "What do you mean, 'they all went to the bathroom together'? Are you kidding me?" Alira snapped, getting angry. "Is it my fault you're so gullible?" Liander taunted, making things worse. That guy really knows how to push people's buttons. "Oh, so I'm gullible, huh?" Alira said, ready to pounce. "Maybe I should smack you upside the head!" Pak! And she did. She whacked Liander on the back of the head. "Ouch! What was that for? I was just kidding. You're too sensitive," Liander complained, rubbing his head. "You'll be complaining even more if I knock the air out of your lungs!" Alira retorted. Liander jokingly hid behind me. "Stop your friend, she's turning into a monster! Her nostrils are getting huge! Tell her if Dustine doesn't tame her, she'll look like a gorilla! Hurry, tell her!" Liander pleaded, shaking my shoulders. "Oh, you're going to get it now!" Alira threatened, approaching us. But that sneaky Liander used me as a shield. Aira and I just laughed at the two of them. They were like children. Good grief. We were teasing and laughing at each other when Dustine, followed by Calex, and then Luna, arrived in the living room. "Hi guys!" I greeted them with a smile. Luna smiled back and sat on the sofa. Alira sat next to her and put her arm around Luna's. Alira was acting childish again. I couldn't help but smile. A little while later, Ice arrived. As always, her aura was cold. She quietly sat on the sofa, studying the map Ms. Alisha had given us for our mission. An hour passed. We were just chatting, and Luna and Calex joined in the conversation, while Ice remained silent and focused on the map. Percy was still missing. "How much stuff is she preparing that's taking so long? It's a good thing we're not leaving until tonight," Ice commented. "They said midnight, but it's already seven." "Percy's slow. Well, she's a girl, so it's okay," I said. "Calex, aren't you from the Ice Kingdom?" Alira suddenly asked. Calex nodded in response. "Is it nice there? I feel like I just found out about the Ice Kingdom. Where in the Red World is it?" Alira asked. As always, Alira is full of questions. "Outside the Crystal World," Calex replied briefly. We were surprised by his answer. "There are other worlds besides the Crystal World?" We apparently still have a lot to learn about our world. "So, you and Percy are from another world? Wait, do you know each other?" Akira asked. I knew it. She’d start with the questions, but she really wanted to know something, to get an answer to a question that was bothering her. Alira is really smart. "Well, Percy and I are..." "Dinner is ready!" Calex was interrupted by someone speaking from the kitchen. We all turned to look. It was Percy, standing in the kitchen doorway, arms crossed and a cold expression on her face. Wait, has she been in the kitchen all along? When did she get there? We didn't even sense her presence. She looked at me and stared. "Yes, I've been here for a while. I arrived before you," she said. My eyes widened in surprise. How could she do that? Only a few have the ability to do that. It requires intense focus to perform such a feat of mental magic. She's really something else. Even when she uses powerful magic, I don't feel anything, not even a little bit of her power. I don't sense anything at all.
