On the other side Nicholas was dumbfounded...a girl! Not even a woman. On the list of one of the world's best assasin! It must be a joke! He turned to glance towards Calhoun whose eyes were on the screen before him...he was sure Calhoun heard it too. So unlike him...by now he must have something to say.
"May I know if I'm speaking to the right person
.. Anne", Nicholas asked to hear a another mind-blowing chuckle from the other side. Was she perhaps a girl from a famous brothel. He wouldn't be surprised.
"Pray tell me...why I'll be picking another idiots phone... I'm quite busy..as an assassin I mean", Isabelle used her professional tactic. They wouldn't be able to resist her now. She knew no one would like to believe a girl like her would be proclaimed best but what should she do... it was a talent or should she say gift she still didn't know how she inherited it.
"If you say so... I'll like to speak to you in person...my Master rather", Nicholas let her know but Isabelle couldn't do that. Her face!!
"I have quite a few rules on my side...", She started, not receiving a reply she continued,
"I won't be showing my face to anyone..and I won't always be there... I come when I feel like. If it isn't to your liking then find another person if you'll see someone better like me", Isabelle relayed surprising Nicholas.
Every other assassin especially low class people wanted to see Master Calhoun and have his time all to their self..why was she reluctant.. or was she really an assassin.
"But no worries I'll be coming tonight", Isabelle let him know and immediately hung up before facing the still suprised Feng who looked like he had seen a ghost.
"Don't be exaggerating Feng it's still morning.. there's no ghost..why the look, besides you do know it's your fault that I'll be wearing a mask from now on..can you do me a favour", Isabelle asked.
"Anything Miss Isabelle", Feng replied.
"Alright then get me a black mask and have a tigress tinted on it", she ordered and he immediately ran off. Isabelle knew it wasn't going to be easy...in fact nothing was easy. But she'll need his trust first before she can think of betrayal. At times gaining ones trust can change your perspective on a few things.. only God knew how his life was.. she could only wish she'll be determined till the end.
.....In kuinn mansion
"Are you sure it wasn't a prank call Nic", Calhoun asked walking down the stairs. He noticed Nicholas who walked to and fro in the living room as if expecting someone.
"I'm-", Nicholas paused when there was a sudden black out... before he could panick the light returned and it took everything to not scream when he saw a figure by the wall. Calhoun's eye narrowed because he was sure he had disconnected his light mansion from government. So there shouldn't be a black out and for a few seconds it was like she appeared or was he not paying attention.. he's supposed to have noticed any irregular movement even the lights off. Because of who he was. He took note of her dark colored brown hair tied up in a ponytail to fall on one shoulder...he didn't have access to her eye's because of the mask hindering him...it was tinted allowing the tigress to be evident enough for one to take note of and she had worn a black turtle neck with black trouser..the trouser designed in a way to make it short while the rest of it was thick net. She wore matching black canvas.. what caught his attention was the gloves.. did she really have to wear one and black in color.
Calhoun continued continued the remaining step of the stairs until he walked towards the couch to sit... his eyes never leaving the stranger who somehow made a mysterious appearance in his mansion.
"You still haven't told me your last name", Calhoun requested showing his curiosity.
"At least don't make me believe the reason I was urgently called was to know my last name...Master Calhoun", she teased literally avoiding his question. She had lots of ways to shut him up knowing his problem with anger. Calhoun stared intently at her as if trying to be sure she wasn't a random girl from the brothel..his gaze cascading her appearance..it didn't really convince him that she was fit for the job but her pride was unexplainable.
"I need a man dead tonight", he challenged her but to his surprise... unlike any other assassin's he had come across she didn't move or show a hint of suprise rather she nodded waiting for any clue or hint. 'That's quite new', he thought.
"He goes by the name Brooche Legace... I won't be able to tell his residential area because I never gave a damn about his life", Calhoun hinted and she raised a brow which he didn't notice because of the mask.
'Was that all?...just him!? That easy?'. She actually knew this man Calhoun was talking about..he was a commoner..not too known but she got to know him from Rohan who spared him on her last mission. It looked like he had provoked Calhoun..too bad then.
"If that's all then I'll be off now", and just like what happened in the beginning there was sudden black out... Calhoun's eye's were on her...he could see clearly because of who he was.. but for some reason it was difficult...he saw a figure walk towards him confusing him.. but he thought it was her and smirked in amusement...he was curious on what she'll do now... suddenly the lights returned and his smirk immediately died down..mere suprise on his features and little displeasure flashed across his eyes. It was a f*****g maid! Even Nicholas looked disappointed. He was sure he had tried to follow her figure.
Her little trick reminded him of a movie..batman. A chuckle left Nicholas' lips as he realised how foolish his thoughts were.
"Did you try investigating her Nic", Calhoun asked.
"Yes Master...but there seems to be no one like her in this country...as if she had covered all her tracks because I tried checking foreigners page.. still nothing", Nicholas replied thoughtfully.
"Mysterious if you ask me... I'm kinda interested", Calhoun said in a low tone but Nicholas' ear was quick to pick on it.
