"Looks like news travels faster than light nowadays", he pointed out. "I'm sorry if it's not to your liking Isa... I know why I had arranged it...I wasn't happy about it either", he let her know. "Why?", she asked innocently.. he wouldn't have answered her but the innocent look on her face was compelling. "One of my guard is very close to you.. I can't accept the relationship between you two for the sake of our financial status", he shook his head at the thought. "Your trying to say they'll be by your side forever", she laughed as a funny picture crossed her mind. 'He wasn't planning to keep them as his son's right?' "No..no.. I trained them as my very own son's... of course they'll be allowed to have their own girlfriend one day.. I only fear for one of them..who you must've manipulated without even knowing", he poured out his feelings without restraint and she smiled brightly. 'Manipulated?', she thought. "You should go have some rest... it's past midnight already", he let her know and she obediently nodded..she did something unexpected the next moment and he raised his brows in surprise. She had her arms round him in a hug and after a second he returned the hug...'she had not yet overgrown this habit of hers', he thought. She usually gave him a surprise hug before bed. ..... the next day "What pushed you to change your mind", Calhoun asked.. he had returned to England earlier than expected surprising his parents. Worse to say.. he'll never let them in on the truth. "Well...the king proposed his daughter being too young for marriage...so we decided to put it on hold until two years time... let it just be a contract for now..but now your here... it'll be great if you two get to know more about each other hmm", his mother spoke excitedly. She feared that she'll never have a grandchild until she left the world. "I have no interest in her mother", he spoke straightforwardly but to his mother...it opened a gate of hope. She smiled with experience.."It's okay Cal.. your dad never loved me when we met you know", she chuckled. "That is one main reason you should get to know her.. you never know", she chirmed and Calhoun rolled his eyes before walking away. ....A week later "Cal dear", a woman who held smooth black hair that fell over her shoulders matching her bright deceiving grey pupils shining only for her son and husband called. She had just interrupted a royal meeting like that.. not bothered by the surprised look they all gave her and worse to say both king and the young master didn't utter a word about it. It was the same when she newly became queen. The king loved her so much that he could kill anyone who uttered a single word about her or eyed her more than once. Calhoun silently stood and walked towards her.. a calm demeanor on his features unlike the terrifying one he held for others. "Good morning mother", he wished leaving a perk on her cheeks shocking the onlookers. "Let's talk outside.. I hope they don't mind", she asked turning to face the royal guest. "No..no problem Qila", the third highest royal guest assured with a quiver..he could feel the eyes of the king on him. She happily led Calhoun out of the room, when they got outside she now turned to face him and Calhoun let out a sigh. "Let me be assured that you just didn't call me out here for something unimportant". He asked because several times in the past his mother would pull such stunts "I would never my dear Cal.. not today.. you've been called out here for a very important reason", Qila let him know making Calhoun very curious. It wasn't everyday his mother had something important to say. "So...the Reign's have organised a very important royal ball this evening", she started and Calhoun internally sighed as he shook his head too. His mother never failed in attempt to give one a headache. "Is this what you called important", he asked in dismay trying to control his incoming temper. This was his mother. "Yes Cal.. for this family.. your happiness is highly recommended.. you may not notice how much we value it now.. you'll get to meet lots of high class people from which you'll decide your interest", Qila insisted letting out a hum. Calhoun couldn't let out a retort.. she was his dearest mother..he wouldn't dear to hurt her feelings.. that was one of the reasons he had left England. His temper wasn't due to any illness..in truth it was a different reason but letting her know was the last thing he'll think of doing. .....In Reign mansion "There's gonna be a ball tonight", Vladimir let her know. "Sadly.. you won't be her man tonight", Graham who knew just where Vladimir's buttons were tried to provoke him...he noticed that Vlad had begun to change.. unlike before now he was good in disguising how he felt and his emotions.. Isabelle too. 'They change so fast', he thought. Sadly he received no response from Vlad. Isabelle raised a brow as she stared at both men before her in confusion...she noticed how Vladimir acted out on Graham's jab..he was silent like he was used to it already. "I won't be needing any man tonight.. it's not like I'm married..a contract can be cancelled right?", she assured herself happy that she won't have to meet that paranoid man till the next two years... maybe she wouldn't even attend the ball tonight. "Where will you both be?", she asked wondering if they'll just continue to cling to her forever and she chuckled. Graham laughed at her question..the princess mustn't have been informed that the king had chosen to take them as his very own son's. "We'll be attending the ball..King Leonardo wasn't lenient on leaving us aside.. now he keeps pressuring us to to start a relationship", Graham explained letting out a frustrated sigh and she trembled trying to stifle down a laugh. 'Looks like this night was going to be one of a kind', she thought.
