"So you think it's a punishment?", she questioned and Graham nodded almost immediately..she turned to look at Vladimir who nowadays was hard to interact with... just how close were the both of them?
"I'll be attending the ball later than expected", she lied not wanting them to know that she had decided to sit this one out.
"And one last thing", Graham said as he turned to leave. He wasn't a fool to not notice the indifferent Vladimir held in his eyes whenever they met Isabelle's. They were best friends didn't mean should interfere.. but he knew how risky one's emotions could be.
"I need to see you in the ball Vlad", he told not turning to look behind but one could notice the seriousness he held in his tone even Isabelle noticed this.
Vladimir's jaw ticked as if he was holding in anger and rage..he didn't go after Graham..he decided to go through the other corridor. As he passed Isabelle he whispered, "I know you won't attend the ball... just don't go too far". Isabelle was a little surprised, it was the first time someone read through her actions. 'So he was this close to her?', she asked herself.
'Just who are you and how close were we', she thought.
Vladimir's memories were still intact and untampered unlike Isabelle's...he would never forget how she always went far from the castle whenever it was time for an occasion and worse to say, to follow her uncle.. Laurence.
It hurt him sometimes..the way Isabelle was influenced by that lunatic... someone who was never straightforward.. living a heck of a life..he knew Laurence had a full hand in Isabelle's memories..infact this wasn't the first time her memories were tampered with.. the first was by a mysterious man.. someone he was sure he had crossed paths with even without knowing though he had forgotten.
"Those bastard's", he cursed under his breath as he walked up the stairs.
.... In the evening
As expected when the kuinn's arrived there was intense silence...one of the people every royal girl could kill for.."Calhoun". Too bad the king didn't have blood son's
"Welcome to Reign's mansion Betmond ", King Leonardo.. Isabelle's father welcomed.
"The honour's all our's your highness", Betmond.. Calhoun's father retorted before they all bowed respectfully.
Leonard's eyes caught the treasure they seemed to be hiding for years now in the kuinn's mansion and he was amazed...he screamed with intense handsomeness..but he wasn't sure what type of man his daughter would be happy with. She was always different when it came to perspective.
"Ah... so this is the treasure of the kuinn's", Leonardo blurted out without filtering in his words.
"A honour to meet you my king", Calhoun said with a deep respectful bow and a smile crept on Leonard's lips.
"Feel free to enjoy yourself.. I won't be personally introducing my daughter.. I'm afraid she won't like it.. she's different after all", Leonardo hinted not failing to see the little tinge of interest that crossed Calhoun's eyes..it was always how he pushed his so called son's to go for something regardless of how bad it might be.
Calhoun kept looking at the watch on his wrist in agitation..the crowd was getting him annoyed with the girls who seemed to lack manners... everywhere.
"Looks like someone's finding it hard to stay", came voice behind and he turned not caring to hide the annoyance he evidently held in his eyes. His eyes glanced skeptically all over the i***t who dared to disturb him...his pupils were grey in color with his dark colored hair neatly brushed backwards.. something about him made Calhoun suspicious.
"And who are you?", he asked straightforwardly refusing to beat around any unnecessary bush.
"Ah..so rude of you..the name's Kyle..no last name", the man introduced himself before his phone rang and he answered it putting it on loud speaker.
"Kyle! You i***t! Where the heck are you! I thought we both agreed on no ball tonight! Come to this place immediately!.. she's here...", and the call ended.. Calhoun's eyes narrowed a little wondering why the man still held such provoking smile hovering permanently on his lips. And who answers their phone and puts it on loudspeaker.
"Sorry bout' that..no need to introduce yourself Mr kuinn .. I guess we've met before..my boss needs me now...gotta go", he told and hurriedly took off leaving Calhoun who wondered why a man of that age was intelligently stupid. Calhoun snapped out of his daze when he noticed a group of ladies heading his direction. Sighing internally he decided to leave the ball room at least..maybe a stroll in the garden or so..he heard how beautiful the place was.
.....earlier
Isabelle had worn a white turtle neck with black shorts.. she wore a jacket that was sleeveless..it seemed to have caught her eyes because of the Tigers head imprinted behind it...she wore black Nike canvas with an average height white socks.
She now stood on the castles rooftop as she took a quick glance across the vast land that now brought familiar old memories rushing into her head. But this time her head wasn't throbbing...she swiftly jumped like a cat with nine lives from one building to the other. It only made her wonder if she was a normal being...though she knew she was. Still she didn't know why she was born skilled without any training or class.
But somewhere it felt like she used to do this same thing with someone but the face was still very faint. She paused when she had reached the tallest tower she could spot..when she noticed a shadow she seemed to have crossed without notice. It was on a rooftop of a very mansion that seemed to hold no walls..she turned to its direction and caught sight of a figure..he seemed to appear shirtless and holding a pair of binoculars as a grin stayed on his lips..he sat proudly with one leg dangling in mid air while the other was kept close to his chest..his pose like he wasn't afraid of death... not that she herself was afraid of death. She decided to take a closer look at him.
