Without wasting a second she mounted the wall and with talent she leaped from rooftop to rooftop using a simple aid asset to make it simple until she had finally landed behind the man. She noticed him still when he heard the thud sound behind him.. she too would be really surprised why she hadn't noticed the presence from afar.
He stood and let go of the binoculars he held for it to dangle loosely on him. He turned and felt the world around him come to a halt... the only thing that could be heard was the rush of the cold wind that blew strongly pass them.
On the other hand.. Isabelle was at loss for words..she winced as both her hands flew to her head.. wave of memories became as clear as water or day...her eyes widened when she saw the memory of a man who looked like a teenager stood close to another teenager who seemed to be her uncle because she heard herself call him uncle..the smile he gave her as he hugged her seemed to break her heart. Her eyes widened in realization.
....
She could swear that she had met him before..the teenager that stood next to her uncle in the memory...back in country A or as some call it "A country". He was the one she had mistaken for one of Calhoun's bodyguard.
She noticed him bring out a phone and dial a number which was received after a few seconds.
"Kyle! You i***t! Where the heck are you! I thought we both decided on no ball tonight! Come to this place immediately! She's here..", he whispered the last one with dismay as if refusing to believe it himself. He anxiously hung up on the phone. 'No way', he thought.
He looked up with a frown..he had now turned around before shoving his left into his pocket as his right hand weaved through his hair..he shut his eyes tightly close and let out a curse which she heard clearly due to the quiet atmosphere that surrounded them both.
"F***!".
"Uncle?... Laurence... you-", she started but he cut her off immediately not wanting to even hear her voice because of the damage it might do to his heart.
"Return to the castle immediately Isa.. it's not safe here", his voice quivering a little but she couldn't see the look in his eyes or the wave of emotions that crossed his eyes at that moment because had turned his back to her as if to hide his face from her. Isabelle felt and immeasurable amount of pain making her heart squeeze tight. After all the memories she had seen...she now understood everything..the reason for everything.. although some things were still questionable she still felt the..hurt.. pain.. betrayal, they all appeared in her eyes and worse to say.. confusion. She now understood that she had joined him in his part of his journey.. something that required intense training and he mad sure she was well trained.. but he must've known he shouldn't let her follow him to the end...so he lied to her about some part of it in other to not endanger her life...he had a lot of secrets he didn't want her to know..he was mysterious even to the government..she didn't know why all of a sudden he began to avoid her and push her to the family which resulted in her to kill the queen who seemed to add salt to her already worsened wound. She was a little confused.. wasn't her real mother dead..when and why did her father get another queen or maybe her mother wasn't queen.. everything sounded like an obvious lie to someone like her.
Going back to her memories she noticed that the moment Laurence had noticed that she had killed the Queen with everything he had taught her, he took her away from the scene..then he did something unexplainable.
He placed a finger on her forehead and whispered incoherent words under his breath...her vision began to blur as she struggled to stay awake.
... memory
"I'm sorry Isa... you can't be part of this.. your mother wouldn't be happy to hear it.. please forget me and everything about us... it's for your own good", she could still hear his pained voice as his hands trembled.
"W-why", she whispered.
"Forgive me... it's over now", he replied.
.....
Back to the present now Isabelle could hear her heart shattering into a million pieces...so she had tried her best to understand him and get close to him because he was the only one who understood her, believing they were similar.. and she was right. She couldn't stop the feeling..as if something similar had happened to her.. betrayal from someone else just like her uncle..'who', she asked herself.
"No.. not again", she retorted, tears now covering her sight and he let out a curse again as if expecting her reply.
"As if I knew you'll return..you never seize to amaze me Isabelle...please return to the castle Isa..Vladimir wouldn't be happy to find you here'", he let her know hoping to convince her through the man's name but once again she retorted, "So you aren't going to explain to me at least..on why you seem hesitant to let me know you better". Laurence shook his head with a chuckle.
"I promised her.. she told me I wouldn't be able to hide it... you always reminded me of her.. you both are so persistent", he answered.
"I don't see how that answers my question", she turned a deaf ear to his thoughts.. she had met a lot of people like him.. scheming and smart.
Just in time something seemed to land behind her stumbling backwards when he noticed Isabelle but she was sharp enough to notice and turn to meet his eyes. He grinned widely knowing she would recognise him immediately...f***! They had placed the spell on her that if she met Laurence again..the spell would be broken..they were sure she wouldn't return.
"You saw me that day..and your conscience was still clear huh?", she asked Kyle who struggled to keep his grin. Even he was surprised when they had crossed path..he couldn't even recognize her until she mentioned her name.
