Before Michael responded, his phone rang. Michael nodded at Beth and then walked out of the room.
Without Michael in the room, Joey stared at Beth at once.
Beth was upset. She didn’t know why Joey was so hostile. It was unacceptable for her to be sent back before making moves.
“Miss White, do not play tricks with us. I have seen lots of women like you. I know what you want,” Joey snorted.
