The Bargain
Aria's living room was dimly lit, the only sound the soft hum of the clock on the mantle. She was alone, or so she thought. Suddenly, a figure materialized on her sofa, sending a chill down her spine. Kael, the demon king, sat relaxed, his piercing eyes fixed on her.
"Good evening, Aria," he said, his voice low and smooth. "I've been expecting you."
Aria's heart racing, she took a step back. "What are you doing here? Where's Lyra?"
Kael's smile was a cold, calculating thing. "Your sister is safe... for now. She's a guest in my kingdom. And you, Aria, are the one I'm interested in."
Aria's anger flared, but she kept her voice steady. "What do you want with me?"
The demon king's gaze seemed to bore into her soul. "I want you to serve me. In return, I'll ensure your sister's safety and freedom. You'll never have to worry about her again."
Aria's eyes narrowed. "What kind of service?"
Kael's smile grew wider. "Oh, Aria. You'll find out soon enough. But let's just say... I have a certain fondness for clever, resourceful women. And I'm willing to make a deal with you. Sign this contract, and your sister will be free to live her life as she chooses. Refuse, and... well, let's just say I have ways of persuading people."
Aria's heart sank as Kael produced a parchment and a small dagger from thin air. She knew she was in a desperate situation, but she had to try. "What guarantees do I have that you'll keep your word?" she asked, stalling for time.
Kael's laughter was low and menacing. "I don't give guarantees, Aria. I take what I want, and I destroy what gets in my way. But I'll give you one thing... you'll be serving me directly. You'll be under my protection, and no one will dare touch you or your sister."
Aria's hand trembled as she took the dagger and pricked her finger. The pain was sharp, but it was nothing compared to the fear that gripped her heart. She signed the parchment with her blood, feeling a surge of energy flow through her as the contract was sealed.
As she finished signing, Kael's eyes gleamed with satisfaction. "Excellent. You're mine now, Aria. Don't forget it."
As the ink dried on the parchment, Kael's smile grew wider, revealing sharp teeth. "I'll take my leave now, Aria. But don't worry, you'll be seeing a lot of me soon. You'll be coming with me to my kingdom, where you'll serve me as my... personal attendant."
Aria felt a chill run down her spine as Kael stood up, his movements fluid and powerful. He towered over her, his presence suffocating.
"You'll pack a bag," he said, his voice firm. "You'll need clothes suitable for my court. And don't bother trying to escape or resist. My kingdom is... not a place you want to be without me."
Aria nodded, still trying to process what had just happened. She felt like she was in a nightmare, and she couldn't wake up.
As Kael turned to leave, Aria called out to him. "Wait!"
He turned back to her, a questioning look on his face. "Yes?"
"My sister," Aria said, her voice barely above a whisper. "Can I see her? Make sure she's okay?"
Kael's expression softened slightly, and for a moment, Aria thought she saw a glimmer of something almost like kindness in his eyes. "You can see her before we leave," he said. "But be warned, Aria. She's not in the same place she was before. My kingdom... changes people."
Aria's heart sank, but she nodded. "I'll see her," she said, her voice firm.
Kael nodded, and with a wave of his hand, Lyra appeared in the room, looking pale and drawn. Aria rushed to her sister's side, embracing her tightly.
"Lyra, oh my god, are you okay?" Aria asked, tears streaming down her face.
Lyra looked up at her, her eyes unfocused. "Aria... what's going on? I don't remember..."
immediately, lyra disappeared"are you ready,I don't like waiting for long" keal muttered
She was now bound to serve the demon king. But what did that mean, exactly? And what would happen to her sister?
