The Princess's Plot

chapter 3: begging

"Again Jessie?"

"Why do you always sneack out?..... you are also making it hard for Erika you know?"

"Where are your whereabouts this time ha?.... and get down there Erika"

Erika climbed down the tree then looked at her toe that was on the ground.

"You know Jessie that if they caught you sneaking out with a maid, it will be the end of the maid right?...... and Erika, why are you always tolerating Jessies noughtiness?......if i ever caught you two again your friendship will be over"

"Yes your highness"

Erika and i both said as we bowed our head, i pouted and then walked with the queen, she always caught us sneacking around, it is like she have an eye everywhere.

"I told you we should not do it"

"I know you don't have to tell me"

"Stop whispering you two!"

"Yes your grace"

We looked at each other with an angry look and is like competing who is wrong because we got caught again.

Mother spared Erika and told her to get into the servants room and had me go to bed.

"Mama.... i really can not sleep"

"Tell me what is bothering you then"

When she said that i hesitated first, but she started caressing my head and that is my weakness, when she's caressing my head and touching my hair, so i told her about the boy sitting on the statue and how he looked at the King and me.

"Ma?... can you tell me what is really happening outside the palace gate?"

I asked, but she just smiled and fixed my blanket to cover my shoulder, kissed my forehead then again smiled,

"You are still young for this.... wait until you are 18 and is given a duty, then you can ask your father to handle the village outside okay?"

"Alright mother... 18 again"

She smiled then tapped the blanket.

"Go to sleep now then Princess"

She stands up after saying the word and then walked out the door of my room, as she walked out i also started drifting to sleep, so i closed my eyes and wished that tomorrow is a bright morning just like my Coronation day.

Everyday i would think of way's on how i will get out of the palace without my mother seeing us, but the fact that Erika will be in big trouble when we get caught is what i am also thinking.

"I will not tell you to come with me next time Erika"

I said to myself. that day, the son of the duke visited me in the garden, there we talked about things that we liked, he said that the king told him to get to know me and introduce himself properly to me.

"Sir Joseph?"

"Yes? your majesty"

"Can you tell me..... what is like to be on the village"

"Our village is doing pretty well, when i am with my father visiting the villagers i always see them smiling and giving gifts to my father"

I listen and looked at him closely while he talks about the villagers, he looked at me startled on how close i am to him and also i am wearing an eager to know face so he laughed at me.

"Why do you look like that?" he said while laughing

"Ohh come on just continue talking about the village"

"Wait wait wait... why are asking about the village anyways?"

When he saw me pouting, he stopped laughing then stands up, he wipes his hands on the side of his pants then fixed his collar, i followed my gaze to him when he stands up and he looked of in a panicked.

"I am sorry.. your majesty"

I tilted my head when he said sorry to me, looked at him confuses why he was saying sorry.

"What are you sorry for?"

"I was talking to without respect your majesty"

"It is okay to talk to me like that, it is not like your going to jail if you talked to me like we were best friends"

I smiled and tapped his shoulder then looked at his face, he does not dare to look at my eyes and at the same time he is not saying anything, my smile faded when he lifted his face and smiled at me back with a slightly scared face.

"Or is it?"

He nodded twice to say, yes he is going to jail for making fun of the princess

"No no i would not tell anyone, and i allow you to speak to me in that tone, you can be normal to me"

"Alright...*sigh*... so can i ask why you want to know about the village?"

"Right.. so i am curious about the village and i would like to ask the king if i can get the duty of taking care of the village, and if i get to know the village starting now, maybe my.. i mean the King will give me the duty of taking care of the village"

"I'll help you then... you know it is easy to know the village if you are there personally"

"as if i can get out of thi-"

I looked at him with a smiling face when i realised something, he looked at me with a confused face as if he doesn't know the rules of the palace.

"I can not get out of this palace because of the rules you know"

"Ohh yeah... unless your 18"

"Yeaahhh....*nod trice*.... buutt you can get me out here right?"

"What?"

He replied as his face went pale

"You can do that right mr.handsomee?"

I said while i hold his hands and keeping my smile bigger and brighter.

"Wha- your majesty i do not have the power t-"

"Pleeeaaase? please please pretty please?"

"No your majesty we will be in trouble"

"Come on... Please let me see the village"

"It will be dangerous for a girl like you, especially you are the Princess"

"Pretty please, mr.Joseph, i really want to see the village, and also you said you will help me"

"But not like this your majesty"

"Please.. help me please"

I beg him till he gave up but until the end he did not even listen to me, he just keeps saying no to every please i say, i knew it! this man is cold.

Now this is my last card, i touched his face and made him look at mine, i then looked at his eyes and showed my cute begging cat eye's like i am about to cry then say the word onces again.

"Please?"

he gave me a deep sigh then looked down to his feet, he massaged his eyebrows then turn to look at me, while i smile at him still holding his left hand so he would not run away.

"Fine then your majesty....i will see what i can do so the king will let you out"

"YES!!"

I shouted while holding my hands up, i started jumping in excitement but the he interrupts me.

"Your majesty i can not asure you the king will agree"

"Doesn't matter... i will sneak out then hehe"

He looked at me in disbelief as he didn't think the Princess would act so childish, but when i looked back at him, i saw him smiling at the corner of his lips, he look so handsome in that soft smile he's wearing in his face.

"he has a beautiful face too i admit"

I whispered to myself while i look at him on my peripheral view, i asked myself, am i falling for this man even though i do not trust someone easily?
