I had James bring down the copy of the guidebook we found in their library, then he left us alone again. He seemed surprised that I also had a copy, but mine was smaller. After explaining about the prophecy and all the information I found in my copy, we opened mom and dad’s copy to see what information they found.
“We have an aunt,” Karter says. “Her name was Avery, she died when she was 19.”
“How come they never told us?”
“She was mom’s sister. It says here that she had red eyes as well.”
“What? How is that possible?”
“Why are you so shocked?”
