BACK TO THE PLACE WE MET

1161 Words
Sia had a dream that night after using her magic. She was back at the place where she met Gideon for the first time, he was waiting for her like always but there was something different about him. He no longer looked like that boy whose only concerns were saving his pack. This Gideon had been plagued by the injustices of life, he looked rougher, sadder and more dangerous. He was standing near the cliff, his eyes shining in the light of the full moon. "Sia?" he whispered unable to keep surprise out of his brittle voice. "It has been so long since the gods blessed me with you in my dreams." But how odd this was. This Gideon spoke to her of dreaming within her dream. She never dreamed of him because the dead cannot dream. She remained silent and completely still, letting the sweet winter breeze gently move her. “This is almost impossible.” He continued to speak in amazement. “You look just as I remember you.” Sia frowned. As soon as he took a step forward, she took a step back. He didn't seem to understand why she wanted to put distance between them. The Gideon of her dreams really was dense. "Even in my dreams do you fear me?" he gave her the impression that he was going to burst into tears out of frustration at not being able to get close to her. "You have to know; I've never stopped thinking about you. Every day since ..." Gideon choked under the weight of his own words, it took him a few moments to open his mouth again without sobbing even though not one damned tear had left the prison of his eyes, "... you left. I am so sorry, my love. There is nothing in this world that I can do to make up for the damage I did to you so long ago. If I could turn back time, if only that were possible." “I left?” She choked out. She didn't go anywhere. He murdered her in cold blood with his bare hands in this bloody place. He had thought of his pack first before he thought of her. All was a dream. Well, then it is an opportunity that I must not miss. Sia let out a scream from the rooftops without measuring herself then she lunged at Gideon with all her might making them both fall to the ground. She straddled his waist and rained blows against his chest, his face, his arms. But no matter how many blows she gave him, it didn't make her feel better. “I should rip your heart out for a change!” She cried out bracing herself against his chest, letting her long auburn hair fall over her shoulders, the tips lightly brushing him. “Give it to me! Tear your chest open and give me your heart!” She growled leaning forward sinking her fingers into his hair. She rested her forehead against his and closed her eyes, seeing him was too much. He sighed her name in an uncensored display of affection and framed her face with his large hands. His touch felt so warm against her skin, she shouldn’t help but to lean into his touch. “Take it, then.” And that’s what she wanted, more than anything else in this world. “It’s always been yours.” “Just like mine used to be, Gideon.” She sobbed, hiding into the crook of his neck. He wrapped his arms around her and pulled her close. For a long time neither of them tried to move, he held her in his arms until the tremors left her body and only the tears remained. Sia breathed in Gideon's scent. It was as comforting as it was distressing to be so close to him even in a dream. “I love the way you smell.” Then she kissed his throat. “You used to tell me that all the time.” “And you blushed every single time.” She teased kissing him again. His throaty laugh filled her with an emotion she had thought she’d lost long time ago. Even in dreams she still loved him. Sia forced herself to detach herself from him, but only a little. His hair was shorter now, there was a tattoo on the other side of his neck just below his ear, an arrow pointing downward. He didn't have this five hundred years ago. He wore clothes from this era, similar to the ones Caden and Silver wore. Sia remained still, there was no other way. I wonder if ... Without saying a word, she placed both hands on his neck and squeezed hard, sinking her nails. He growled baring his fangs at her but didn't try to shake her off him, he remained sprawled underneath her. When she squeezed again, he shouted and fisted a hand into her hair. “You.Are.A.Fool.” each word came in staccato through gritted teeth. “How so?” he pulled her face closer to his, his eyes trained upon her lips. She licked them for good measure provoking another growl from him, this one more guttural. “You think you’re dreaming, aren’t you?” The poor thing! The confusion in his beautiful face almost made her want to hug him. “Take a look. Don’t I look different to you, my love?” “Different?” He truly had no idea. “Can’t you see that I’ve changed?” “That’s impossible. You’re dead. I killed you and this is only a dream. A nightmare. Your spirit has come to torment me, but I won’t give you the satisfaction from doing so.” He carefully rolled them over and positioned himself between her legs. "Why don't you let me dream of you in a better way?" “You’re a fool.” She hissed at him driving her knee up into his crotch knocking the air out of him. He wheezed above her. “And a pig.” Sia pushed Gideon’s shocked body off her. She scrambled away from him and kicked him in the stomach, it was a cowardly thing to do but he deserved it. He deserved this and so much more. "Mark my words, mangy wolf, I'm coming for you. You're not dreaming, you're not hallucinating." Sia coldly calculated her next words, making sure the terror consumed him bit by bit. "It is not I who should fear, it is you who will learn to fear me." --- Gideon broke the surface of his sleep gasping for air. For a moment he had forgotten where he was. He was in his bedroom, in his bed. But then… his neck was on fire. Why? He kicked the sheets off his body and ran to the bathroom turning on the light as he entered and stood in front of the mirror. "It's not possible!" Nail marks that weren't hers now decorated her skin. "This cannot be happening." Gideon fell apart right there; he hadn't dreamed of Sia's memory or her spirit. Sia was alive, for some reason she was still alive and that ... was not good for him or his pack.
