“IS THIS THE WAY YOU TREAT YOUR LUNA?” Teonna was screaming at my brothers and guards.
“TEONNA! THAT IS ENOUGH!” I roared, and she saw me get out of the car and shut her mouth. She jumped out of the SUV and ran up to me.
“Lykeon, honey, are you going to allow them to treat their Luna like this? Your Luna?” She begged me. I had enough. I picked her up by the neck, squeezing it until she was barely breathing.
“How many times do I have to tell you?” I said to her. “You will NEVER be my mate, nor the Luna of my pack! Honestly, I shouldn’t allow you to leave the pack...”
“Thank you, Alpha!” she squeaked out, interrupting me.
“I haven’t finished, b***h!” I bared my teeth at her. “You can’t leave the pack. Once I find my mate and Luna, you’ll relentlessly harass her until she dies. So, to save the headache and heartbreak, I am going to kill you now.”
“A-A-Alpha, no, please,” Her eyes got big, and she trembled. “I promise to go and never come back!”
“No, you won’t.” I crushed her windpipe, making her suffocate. After a few minutes, she was gone. “Burn her body and get rid of her car. We don’t have to worry about her anymore.”
Everyone stood there quietly, not believing I just killed a member of our pack. She left me no choice. Teonna’s mind was deranged; she was delusional, believing she’d be my mate and Luna. That will never happen. I killed her to protect my fated mate and Luna. I turned to walk back to my car.
Jules ran up to me and got in the passenger side. We drove back to the pack house in silence, happy we had one less thing to worry about. However, I need to prepare myself for any repercussions I could face in the future with Theo. Will he thank me for saving him from his mother, killing her, and giving him a loving home, or will he be angry with me for taking him from Teonna, killing her, and placing him in a home that isn’t his? It will be an answer I will find out in the future.
It was after eleven before I got to bed, and I was exhausted. I fell into a deep sleep, having a weird dream. It was of a girl with long blonde hair running from the flames. I tried to save her, but I couldn’t reach her. Everywhere I ran, she was there, running from me. Could it be my mate? I don’t know, but there was something familiar about her.
“Lee, Lee, wake up,” I heard, and someone was waking me up. I opened my eyes and saw Jules standing above me, shaking me. He smiled when I opened my eyes.
“Time to get up. We have a plane to catch.”
I looked at my phone and groaned when I saw the time. I must have slept through my alarms.
Great Moon Pack reached out to us, wanting an alliance with us, and our help to train their warriors. They just got a new Alpha, and he wants to improve the pack, strengthen it, make it desirable for other werewolves to move there. With the location and seclusion, it would be perfect for werewolves who want to find a home away from the humans.
I got up and got into the shower, washing up quickly. When I finished showering, I put on a pair of slacks and a polo shirt, so I was dressed when we arrived at the Great Moon. I stopped in the kitchen and grabbed a muffin out of the container on the counter and headed downstairs to the waiting SUVs.
Sienna was standing there, waiting on. She told me. "Don't go, Alpha."
"Why, Sienna?" I asked her. "Do you see something?"
"Yes, your mate will come today. If you leave, she will feel like you abandon her." I looked over at her with curiousity. "I have talked to your brother, and he is canceling your trip."
"Who is my mate?" I asked her.
"You will find out soon." She said and then disappeared. I quickly linked my brother, to see if she did talk to him.
"Did you talk to Sienna?" I asked him.
"Yeah, I did, while you were getting ready," he told me. "I am on the phone with Great Moon right now. They are understanding about canceling our meeting, and are willing to reschedule once you get to know your mate."
I cut my link with my brother, pissed about not going on this trip. They needed our help, and we have the resources to help them.
Since we are not going anywhere, I went back into my room, and changed my clothes into some shorts and a T-shirt. I went to my office, to go over some paperwork that Victoria, our COO over the security company, has sent over. It was getting close to eleven when Jules came into my office.
"Lee, there is an emergency at the gate," he explained to me. "But the weird thing is, they were asking for mom and Emma."
"Who is it?" I sighed, asking my brother.
"It's Summer," Jules responded.
"Who?" I asked, getting up out of my chair.
"Summer," he answered. "The girl who Piper rescued several years ago from The Hunters' prison. She and her mom, Nora stayed with us for several months while she healed from malnutrition."
I couldn't believe what I was hearing. Little Summer is back?
"Where is she?" I asked.
"Mom is bringing her up now. She is disdraught, and saying something like The Hunters are back." I couldn't believe what Jules said. We thought we took care of them when Piper killed Celeste. Now, they are back? For what?
"That can't be," I told my brother. "We took care of them when they attacked us."
"That is what I thought, too," Jules told me. "But mom and Summer are pulling up now. Let's meet them."
We walked out of my office, and out the front door, waiting for everyone to get out of the SUV. For some reason, Mars was jumping around in my head, all excited. I figured it was because he was excited to see Summer.
The door opened, and mom got out first. Then, there was a summery mixture of lemon with roses mixed in the scent. Mars was jumping in my head.
"MATE! MATE IS HERE!" he cried out. Then, there she was, a beautiful women with golden blonde hair, and dark blue eyes. This couldn't be the little Summer we all remembered.
