My Last I Love You (part 1)
I had a life that every woman wanted: a happy family with a great life. But it didn't last, as my 5-year-old daughter died in an ambush. I was there when that happened. "Mommy, I want ice cream please…" My eyes fixed on the man selling ice cream, and a throng of children ran eagerly in that direction. I told my daughter to remain seated on the bench, ensuring she didn't struggle to reach the ice cream vendor. When I glanced back at her, I saw her talking with a man and a group of men walking with guns. Anger and fear welled up within me, and for a moment, they were pointing at the man whom my daughter was talking to as he pulled the trigger. Unfortunately, she caught the bullet that was meant for him. Her untimely death caused our marriage to break. I can't hold him or talk to him like a wife anymore because of his resentment toward me. He longed to be a father, but they took her away from us. She was a precious blessing, a child I almost lost during a difficult pregnancy while bringing her into this world. Is it really so hard for us to be a completely happy married couple and become a complete family again? Like we used to be? There was a time when I had a meeting with my client, but my client was crossing the line. I saw my husband not too far from where I was sitting, just looking at me with disgust and anger. I had a feeling that we would have an intense argument later once I got home. I tried to follow him, but I lost him. Unexpectedly, my head hurts again, as if it's tearing me apart. And a few moments later it comes back to normal. This evening, I was talking with my brother over the phone while entering the house. It shocked me when I saw my belongings all around the floor and him leaning on the door frame, holding a glass of red wine, waiting for me. “How dare you?!” I picked up the clothes and put them on a chair. “This is also my house. I have the rights here.” He turned his back to me. “I AM YOUR WIFE! What else do you think?! huh?!” he stopped. He pointed at me, yelling, “This is your fault. Why did our daughter die and now you're flirting with somebody else?!” I know, and it’s unbearable, but I want to live as my daughter wanted. "FLIRTING?! I am being harassed, and you call it flirting? And anyway, she’s dead. We can do nothing; she will not COME BACK ANYMORE!” I don’t want to show my emotion to him; I want to be strong and let him know he must accept the fact. “I hate you,” he said coldly and plainly. He eventually threw that glass and the bottle of wine, and it shattered onto the floor as he stepped into those pieces. I ran into him and asked him if he was okay. “Go away!” He pushed me hard through the wall and hit my head hard, and I was out of balance and fell to the floor. I saw him holding our wedding photo, and he threw it on the wall on top of me where I was sitting. He left the house and left me alone in the dark. I saw my brother running in my direction before he could grasp my head. I had already fainted. I woke up in a white room and couldn’t move my body. I feel like my body is weak now. I saw my Mom, Dad, and my brother shocked, and Mom rashly called the doctor. As they arrived, they checked on me and said a few things. “You're fine now,” he smiled. “So, Can I go home now?” I asked. “No, you needed to stay here. And...” I asked him what it was, but he just looked at my mother. They’re hiding something. The doctor left, and my mom sat beside me, holding my hands. She started to tear up, and her hands were trembling in fear. “Baby, you are a blessing to us. Always remember that you’ve been a brave girl.” I don't know the reason the three of them are crying. I asked them what was going on, and then my brother answered. “You have a brain tumor, and it has no cure, and you only have a month left…” My body was suddenly gloomy and might collapse if I stood right now. I feel my tears falling from my cheeks. As I regained my reality, I asked where my husband was. Now they are looking at each other. No one wanted to speak and tell the truth. “He’s in room 302,” My mother said. I was stunned and didn’t give it a second thought. I slowly ran to find room 302. As I found it, I opened the door and found him sitting there with his eyes covered with b*****e. I saw Hasan beside the bed, standing there quietly. He saw me and we both left the room. “He got blind,” Hasan said “Why? What happened?” I asked. “The night you two had an intense fight, he went to the club. And he fought with this guy. He didn’t see what was coming next. The man was holding a bottle and breaking it on his forehead. The small piece of that glass directly hit his eyeballs. He will not see you again.” I went back inside his room again and called out his name. I told him I wanted to have a sincere conversation, but he declined. I tried to speak to him, but hatred won him over. I met this little girl in the chapel. A girl stared at me happily. She waved and sat beside me. "You're beautiful, she said." I smiled "What are you praying for? She also kneeled and put her hands together, praying to give me some miracle to put my family back together again, even if it happens in my last breath." I smiled as the girl left when her mother called her name. She waved again, and I waved back. Someone tapped my shoulder, and it was Daddy. I immediately stood up and hugged him tightly. "I missed you so much, Dada," I cried quietly in my father's embrace. We returned to my room, and that's where we talked. "Cynthia, I will take you to the US to help you. We know there's no cure for it, but we still want you. We still need you,” I whispered as I caressed my father's face. “I am not leaving this country. I want to die here." He tried to smile. "Mom, I know he did something that hurt me, but please do me a favor and let my husband see again. I know my eyes are a perfect match for him. He still has so many things he can do. And please don’t tell him who the donor is." Mother can't disagree. "Thank you, and even after my life ends, please smile," she said bitterly. The operation started after 2 weeks, and it was successful.
