“That film was really great. I cried my eyes out,” said Ellie with a sigh.
Cherry drank the last of her coke and put the empty cardboard cup into the likewise empty popcorn carton. They waited in their seats until the other people had left the cinema to avoid the crush. Once most of the people had reached the exit Ellie got up and Cherry did the same.
“I’m glad you came with me,” said Ellie. “You’ve spent the last two weeks hidden away in your room. I know it’s hard, but life goes on.”
“I know,” said Cherry.
