Alina-Marie
It is my belief that from the day she was born Alina was a gift to this earth. She excelled at anything that was laid before her. Dancing, signing, art, languages, her tutors all sang her praises.
Her beauty was unrivaled by any lady of the court. Alina stood tall and proud in any room. Her skin was as pure as a porcelain doll. Her hair was the most beautiful shade of black I'd even seen. It was the darkest sahde of blqck i had ever laid my eyes upon. It was as if the night sky had gifted it to her itself. It consumed all light upon it and made it only that much more alluring as it fell perfectly stright down her back. I would even go as far to say that I don't believe a hair would dare to lay out of place upon her head.
Her eyes were always her most talked about quality. A gorgeous shade of pale lavender, unheard of throughout the kingdom except to Alinas perfectly heart shaped face. Thought they were unnatural a color many said it just showed she was favored from birth to be bestowed such a unique gift from god. Her lips and cheeks always perfectly red. She was the center of attention for her beauty alone no matter where we went.
There was not a man alive who would not give all he had to win Alinas affection, or sell his soul that he might be marked as worthy in her grandfather's eyes to marry her.
And that was just it. Her beauty rivaled only by that of her cool and dare I even say at times cold personality. For everything that Alina was, in her grandfather's eyes was worthless. We all saw it. The near hatred he held in his eyes when he would look upon her. When they were together in a room you'd swear the temperature would drop from the icey stares they bestowed upon each other. But it only added to Alinas loveable qualities. For her grandfather was a strict and feared, while respected, ruler however Alina coward to no man. Least of all him.
For all her accomplishments he would call expected of a lady of her station and nothing more. To his cold words meant to break her and keep her quiet and scared she only stood that much taller and brighter. Alina would never hesitate to look him in the eye of his greatest accomplishments and say "Well it's to be expected of a man of your station tho bold to be attempted by a man of your age." She was never scared to hold her ground. As the only living heir he had left he could never truly publicly shame nor comdem her. So each day they spent in the company of the other they exchnaged their insults like men do blows in a fight. Always waiting to see if the other would take it just a little to far while never daring to do just that.
If you asked him hed say Alina is the most important thing to him and the kingdom as shes all he has left in this world of his family. He says tells of her importance to him and the throne like a prerehearsed speech you give to visitng royalty about how their alliance means everything to the kigndoms. No one dares to speak openly in his prescence about Alinas mother or father. He says her father snapped the night of her birth and killed her mother and tried killing Alina as well. Although he never did say what caused her father to turn on his own wife and unborn child that night or if he even really knew. All that he ever did say was that he heard a commotion and screaming from the ladys in waiting. He said that by the time he got in there it was already to late for his daughter and her ladys, they were all murdered. That as he looked around the room he saw his son in law holding his granddaughter and had no choice but to act swiftly and without hesitation. No one has ever dared to ask again about what happened that night. Though it is to my understanding if you walk into any tavern late at night the stories and whispers that are told about that horrible b****y night are something only nightmares can dream up. With all that being said it is important that you understand that there is one known fact about that night never needing to be spoken because it has always been so visibly seen. Whatever happened that night in that room was the cause for the hatred the king holds for Alina.
