“f*****g hell.” I growled, unsure about what to do, now that Gregory was definitely after Aurora.
Suddenly, everything started to come together in my mind. It all made sense now. The deaths of the two prospects who had been assigned to watch over Aurora—it wasn’t just bad luck or a random attack. They must have seen the danger coming. Maybe they tried to stop it, maybe they fought back, but in the end, they were the ones who lost their lives.
I could picture it clearly now. They had been there, keeping an eye on her, making sure she was safe. Then, something must have happened—someone dangerous had approached, and they had stepped in to handle the situation. But instead of eliminating the threat, they had been taken down themselves.
