Chapter 7

1002 Words
Kai's POV "Welcome back, prez." Adam smiled, picking me up from the police station. I'd have preferred Aurora driving me home, but she had family issues to sort. I wasn't thinking about anything when they charged me with Gregory's murder, only that I wasn't guilty in any manner. When I was told to get a lawyer, I could only think of Aurora. At least, I'd get to see her, touching her sometimes, sniff her in and many more possible things. I was hurt when she shook her head to my question. If she had said she loves me, I'd probably die a happy man, regardless of the outcome. "Good you came alone." I said, happy that there were none of the other riders around. I enjoyed the peace and quiet. "I'm sorry prez. I couldn't keep them out." Adam said and the riders came out with their bikes. They were just arriving from wherever they were coming from. They were shouting and laughing. "Missed you a lot prez." John said, stretching out his hands for a hug. I held his right hand and turned it into a shake. I eyed Adam who raised his hands in a mock surrender. "Back like I never left." I said, greeting the others. Adam held my jacket but he knew better than to hand it over to me in front of a police department where I just got bailed. "Brought Renegade." Kalashnikov said, patting my bike. "Vigor is still with the police, on the site." "Hello pretty boy." I said, caressing my bike. I took the helmet hung on the back of the bike. I wore it and mounted Renegade. "Let's get out of here." The boys scowled as he rode back to the clubhouse. I sat in a booth, eating a proper meal. Adam was seated in front of me, John was beside me and Kalashnikov was opposite John. I closed my eyes, trying to remember everything that happened the previous night but nothing was coming to me. It was all still hazy. "How was it in there?" Kalashnikov asked. "Not bad." I responded. "Anyone figured out who's trying to frame me yet?" "No, Prez." Adam said. "The streets have been silent and we've been..." I slammed my hand on the table angrily. "You've been what?" I snapped. "What the f**k have you been doing?" "Prez, we've tortured several people and there's nothing yet." John said. "I really want to understand how my bike landed in enemy territory." I said. "And how did that gun get on my f*****g desk?" It is well known by the gang that I only use glocks and barrels. I would never use a Beretta which was placed on my desk. "You came back without Vigor that night." Kalashnikov said. "You were also drunk and you slept off almost immediately." "Fuck." I muttered, blowing raspberries before burying my head in my palm. "Your office has been cleared out. The police took everything." Adam said. "We're lucky the clubhouse isn't locked already." John said. "What about the cameras? Did you get anything from them?" I asked. "Whoever put the gun there must have also known about the cameras." Adam said. "There's no footage from that night. Nothing at all." "Now, this is crazy." I said. "I'm purposely being targeted." "But who dares target the fearless president of the Bloodhorn bikers club?" Kalashnikov asked rhetorically. I went silent and deep in thoughts. The Morettis would never do something so stupid. There's no reason for them to try framing me for the death of one of their own. They don't operate that way. They also stand to gain nothing from pushing me off the board. "Who stands to gain the most from this?" I asked, thinking of just one club. "The f*****g Titans." John growled. "Yeah. Get the boys ready, we ride out this evening." I said. John smirked. He liked going out for battles. "Speaking about the boys, prez, there's a problem." Kalashnikov said. "And what problem is that again?" I asked. "The two riders you sent to always watch the former old lady to be sure she's fine," Kalashnikov said. I shrugged. "What's up with them?" "They turned up dead the night of Gregory's murder." Kalashnikov said. "Wait, what?" I exclaimed. "Pete and Kyle are dead?" "Yes, prez." Kalashnikov sighed. "I'm sorry for sending prospects, rather than patch members. I wasn't worried about all that. All my focus was on Aurora and the possibility of her being in intense danger. I could not let anything go wrong with her. "Get two new patch members to watch and protect Aurora from a distance now!" I ordered. "Yes, prez." "How did they die? Got any Intel on that?" I asked. "Two shots to the head each." Kalashnikov answered. "And what's the word on the street? Who did it?" "Some say it's the Morettis, others say it's the Titans." Adam said. "And in truth, they've been the only ones on our land, trying to take our territory." "I've been silent for too long. It's time to take some steps." I said. "What do you want to be done, prez?" Adam asked. "Get the boys ready for a ride by evening." I said. "First we figure out what got our boys killed before raining hell down on whoever dared to dare me." "Yes, prez!" John exclaimed with a smirk. "Also, find a way to get the footages around wherever they were killed." I ordered. "And Adam, speak with our man in the police and figure out what they know about Gregory's death and our prospects also." "Consider it done, prez." Adam said. I took a deep breath and closed my eyes to think properly. I took several deep breaths. The others had already left to do my bidding. "So, this is what you spend your time doing. Closing your eyes." A familiar voice said. I slowly opened my eyes and they fell on one of the people I disliked the most in the world. "Father."
