Get To Know You

Ever since that fateful moment in the science fair, Rocky and I have always been bumping up with each other. Like, I always see him around now compared to when I still didn't know him. I really think he's interested in me but, if it's just a misunderstanding. Then screw him. I don't want to assume that he likes me but, he surely isn't uninterested. Even Rita agrees.

However, no matter how I'm feeling good about it, it's also annoying. It's like I'm being stalked or it's just me hallucinating. Anyways, I hope he stops approaching me so casually while I'm around my classmates. I don't want to have unwanted attention from gossips.

"Lucy, I think I won't be able to go home with you. I'm really feeling sick." Rita at the back of my chair, whispered.

I immediately looked at her with concern. She did look pale ever since this morning. I nodded at her in response. "Make sure to stop by the school clinic so you can take some meds." I told her.

Rita was able to excuse herself from our teacher. Good thing Mrs. Fox believed her, Mrs. Fox doesn't fall for petty tricks easily. Well, It's not like Rita is playing. She's real sick. Hay. I guess I'll be going home alone later.

The time went by fast and it's already dismissal. I quickly fixed my stuffs since I don't want to stay here any longer. It's quite suffocating without Rita here. I was walking through the hallway towards the school exit when someone walked beside me. Yeah. It was Rocky.

"Hello, Lucy. Mind if I walk home with you together?" He asked with his charming smile. Yes. Charming. I ain't gonna lie about it but yeah. It's a little bit uncomfortable for me. I can literally feel the eyes of the other students focusing on us. Or maybe it's just me?

Hm. No. My senses sharper than an average human. Geez.

"Hi. Yeah sure." I replied. I don't want to be rude since he ask kindly and I think having a company is better than nothing.

"Nice." he simply added.

We walked out of the school without saying a word. We were both silent and it was really uncomfortable for me. I decided to start some conversation to appease my discomfort. "So, your a graduating student right? How did you know me?" I asked him. I was really curious about how the hell did he know my name because I'm pretty sure I'm a nobody in the school.

"You're pretty famous. Don't you know it?" He asked back. I don't know if he's playing with me or what but screw him.

"Yeah. I am very famous to the point where bullies are always surrounding me." I said in a gruff manner which he just laughed at in return. Do I look like I'm joking?!

"Hahaha. I'm telling you. You're pretty well known especially to us graduating seniors." He said while directly looking at me. O-kay...

"So should I celebrate or something?" I asked in a snobbish manner.

"Silly. I'm telling the truth. You're famous because of your beauty. Don't you see yourself in the mirror?" He said. I immediately felt my cheeks burning after he said that. That took me off guard. Nobody, literally nobody has ever said that to me. I calmly looked at him trying to play it cool. "Oh really. Well, thank you for the compliment." I said. Which was lame but I don't care. After that I didn't give any attention to him. That was really embarrassing. I hope the land will eat me.

I was already inside my neighborhood but Rocky is still walking beside me. I couldn't help but crease my forehead in confusion. Is he also from here? Why didn't I know?

Even though I was really confused, I did not bother to ask him. Maybe he really is also from this village. I was just unaware. When I reach my house I stopped in my tracks and turned to face him.

"I'm here. Thanks for the company." I sincerely thanked him.

"No problem. It was fun for me, too. Also, now I know where your house is." He smiled. I wasn't able to return his smile because of what he said. I know he knows that I am confused about what he just said.

"You should go inside. I'll go now." He said and tapped my head like I was a little girl. That irritated me. "What the heck do you think you're doing." I said and slapped his hand away from the top of my head. If I know, he's clearly teasing me because I'm way shorter than him. Jerk!

"Go now. I won't thank you again." I said and turned my back against him. I heard him laughing but I ignored it. Before I was able to fully close the door of my house, he shouted, "Se you tomorrow, shorty!"

That literally made my blood boil. I immediately faced him in an attempt to scold him but what I saw was nothing. Not even a shadow. He was already running fast to the direction where we just came from and was laughing hysterically. Uh- Wh-

"JERK!!" I shouted my lungs out. I'm sure I'm all red from shouting and embarrassment.

"HAHAHA. It was nice getting to know you, too!" He shouted back like it was not enough of him to make fun of me.

I slammed the door close and stormed upstairs to my bedroom. Grr. Screw him! I hope he'll trip and fall face down. Why did I let him walk with me. It's all my fault. You're so stupid Lucy.

I was angrily taking my clothes off when I heard a knock on my bedroom door. I'm pretty sure I'm the only person in this house right now. Mom's not yet home. I was frantic when I heard the knock again. I wore my clothes back as fast as I could and readied myself to fight the potential intruder. Good thing I am a siren. I am much stronger than the burglar on the other side of my bedroom door.

The doorknob clicked showing that it is opening. I waited for the potential burglar while the door is opening in a slow motion.

Inhale.

Exhale.

The door opened up and to my surprise it was Rita.

"What the f**k?!" She exclaimed while I, on the other hand, froze. I was cut off from my reverie when I heard Rita laughing so loudly.

"Did you think I was a burglar?" she asked crying from laughter. I immediately dropped my arms from a ready stance and rolled my eyes at her.

"Ha. Ha. Ha. That was funny." I curtly said.

"Yeah. I know." She kidded.

"Get out of here." I told here and returned to undressing myself. She did not comply, of course. Instead, she slumped herself on my bed.

"I saw that, Lucy. I didn't know you'll date him that fast." She asked out of nowhere.

"What are you talking about?" I was already dressed into a more comfortable othes and laid beside her.

"You know. That Rocky guy." she teased.

"Oh, shut up. I don't wanna talk about him." I said. I opened my phone and went to my f*******: account.

"Liar. I know you like him." she insisted.

"I don't, Rita. So shut your trap." right after a said that a notification popped up on my phone. Rita saw it too. It was a DM. Before I knew Rita already snatched my phone my hands and proceeded on reading the DM.

"I had fun walking you home shorty. Accept my friend request." she read out loud. I was about to get my phone back before she could do silly stuffs but she was quick on her feet and did something very stupid...

She just accepted his friend request and replied, "Me too. Can't wait for tomorrow."

What. The. Hell.

"RITA!!!" I boomed and she stormed out of my room just like that leaving me with this humiliation.
