Today is Science Fair Day. The reason why the school is more lively than usual. It just means that we, students, can do whatever we want. We don't have to endure the pain in our butt from long hours of sitting, listening to uninteresting lectures. Don't get me wrong, I love learning. It's just that I think I can learn better on my own than in class. Sorry not sorry.

I'm currently sitting on the field, watching other students as they explore all the booths. I'm waiting for Rita, she's on the restroom. Honestly, she's been there for so long. Is she taking a dump? I decided to read a book while waiting for her. But my peace didn't last long as Jenifer had to ruin it.

"Oh hey there, nerd. You're reading book, again?" I don't know why she approached me but nothing good comes from it everytime she does.

"What do you want?" I asked her direct to the point.

She squatted before me so we can meet eye-to-eye and then said, "Come on, Lucy. I'm just curious as your friend." it was evident that she's making fun of me. I want to be thankful because she's wasting her time just for me. However, she's also wasting my freaking time. I gave her a I-don't-believe-you kind of smile before saying "Screw off."

That... didn't went well. She slapped me. Huh. Of course. Unfortunately, that kind of scenario was what Rita had to see after taking her time in the girls comfort room.

"Hey!" she shouted and ran fast towards me.

What shocked me was the next thing that she did.

She slapped the hell out of Jenifer's face. It was so LOUD.

"b***h!" Jenifer yelped in anger and was about to slap Rita, too, when something hit Jenifer on the back of her head. Oopssss.

Both Rita and I were holding our laughter in. It was epic.

"Oh, I'm sorry. I didn't mean to." said a guy behind Jenifer. Girl was about to snap at the guy but, when she saw that he was handsome, a rare occurrence of shape-shifting happened. It was so fast I almost believe that she was a shapeshifter. Like from a super angry demon-face to a friendly-angel kind of face. It was DISGUSTING.

"Didn't know she was a shapeshifter." I whispered to Rita beside me which she replied with a smirk and said, "You tell me."

We were about to save ourselves from the disgusting scene infront of us when a voice stopped us from our tracks.

"Hey. Why don't you visit our booth." the guy said. He's probably not pertaining to us. Right?

Right then, Jenifer cut him and clung on to his arms and said, "Sure. Bring me there."

"Sorry. But I'm not pertaining to you." the guy said to Jenifer as he break away from Jenifer's grasp. Okay... The three of us were shookt. Mostly Jenifer. I bet she could not believe that she was rejected!

"Hi! Lucy, right? Why don't you visit our booth with your friend?" He asked now directly infront of me. I was rendered speechless. I mean, WTH?! ME?! I looked up at him confusingly. I'm pretty sure that I don't know him. It's actually my first time to see him.

"Uh... s-sure." I said, not so sure. But, he smiled anyways and said, "Good." before guiding us to his/their booth. I was robotic all the way when I felt a nudge on my side. It was Rita. And with a cheeky smile on her face. Ugh...

"I didn't know you're a man catcher." she teased.

"WTH?! Does that even exist?!" I asked her with disbelief.

"Oh, come on. You don't have to be so shy. Jenifer's face says it all." and she laughed out loud that I have to cover her mouth because of it. "Wtf, Rita." we're in public. I don't like getting much attention so...

"Whatever. I know you found it hilarious, too." she said pertaining to Jenifer's reaction after seeing the guy she flirted asked for me instead. I laughed but just loud enough for the both of us to hear. I swear, it was so funny. Her eyes were bulging while her mouth agape... I can't.

I was wiping my tears off from laughter when the guy stopped walking.

"So, here we are. Welcome to our booth." he said. So we faced the booth and a big signage, painted with galaxy, was plastered on the booth. The Rocketeers is what it said.

"I'm Ronny Kieth, but for today, please call me Rocky and I am a rocket enthusiast." Ronny/Rocky introduced himself. I'm lying if I said he didn't look dashing that moment. Coz' he was.

"We're a group of 12th grade students and all of us here are rocket enthusiast. Feel free to see each one of our invented miniature rockets." Rocky continued. The displays were pretty amazing. A video was even released played which shows the thorough designs.

"Psst." Rita. "I'm getting a genius-type of person from your guy." she said, emphasizing the last word.

"What the... shut up, Rita." I scolded her. "Someone might hear you."

"So?" she asked. Really, how can she be like this?

"So? SO?! What are you going to do if someone misunderstands, huh?" I asked her full of disbelief.

"Okay. Okay. Chill." she dismissively replied. "But, really. Lucy. There's nothing wrong with it. It's clear that, that Rocky guy likes you." she sincerely said. I didn't know she had this side of her. Rita, really is full of surprises.

I sighed. "I get you, okay. However, for now let's not think about that. Let's just enjoy, Rita. I don't want to be uncomfortable and ruin the day." I truthfully asked her. I don't know why I'm shutting off the possibility of meeting someone. But maybe... I'm just afraid of showing my true self to others beside my mom and Rita. I might scare them off if they knew what kind of a person I am. If that's the case, I might as well choose to be alone than being left behind after knowing the real me. I'm not yet ready, for now.

"Alright. Let's go PARTY!!" Rita exclaimed which I just shrugged at. I don't know why she belongs to the nerd group when it's clear as the sky how extroverted she is. She just love reading books and mostly hang out with me. Nothing else. Like, believe me or not, she gets along well with almost everyone except bitches, of course. Oh, and jerks, too.
