Queen Alpha POV
I sat on the bed waiting for the clock to strike 12.
My bedroom reflected my power and elegance. The plush queen-sized bed, adorned with luxurious fabrics, was my haven. Intricately carved nightstands and an elegant dresser stood proudly, while floor-to-ceiling curtains flowed like a river. Artwork and ornate mirrors added depth, and the scent of lavender filled the air.
A nostalgic feeling surges through me as I remember the first call on my first night as a bride in the palace.
There I was, a new bride who manipulated herself into the life of the Alpha's son.
Yes, I was never meant to be the Luna, currently the Queen Alpha since my son, Kael Duke is the current Alpha.
Kelvin Duke, my husband and Alpha of blessed memory, it unfortunate that he has to marry a devil and lost himself on the way.
Cherry, the Beta daughter, was Kelvin Duke's mate, but the future of my people; Ecar was at stake. For their redemption, I must be a part of the Alphas of Astro park and that can only be possible by marriage.
My people Ecar, a group of werewolves blessed with the gift of sorcery were banished from Astro park over 100 years ago. We've suffered exile, away from the rest of the world.
39 years ago, the great leaders of Ecar organized a competition to choose the savior of our people. Being the most beautiful, clever and sharp wit girl, none of the other competitors could match up to me. My Sleek, raven-black hair cascading down my back, piercing gray almond-shaped eyes and fringed with luscious lashes, my lips; full and plump with a porcelain-smooth complexion. I was and still is a beauty to behold.
Winning the contest was a piece of cake.
Equipped with every information I need, the great leaders and sorcerers of Ecar blessed me and gave me a bracelet which can summon their presence to wherever I am but I can only have access to them by 12pm.
It was easy to sway Duke's attention from Cherry; with a little portion, Duke had eyes only for me. Oh, how foolish of him.
It's unfortunate he died trying to fight an evil not knowing the root of it is his wife.
Now, Luna Natalie, Kael's wife , has been a thorn in my flesh. A fly whose death I've arranged.
The alarm on the clock tick; 12:00
I pick up my purple coat beaded with tiny precious stones designed by the dressmakers.
The bracelet on my arm vibrates indicating the presence of the leaders of Ecar. My heart skipped a beat. They are here for the report, and the goddamn idiots I hired are yet to get back to me.
The familiar fragrance of my cologne filled my nostrils; I walked towards my jewelry collection. I stood in front of the mannequin adorned with my most treasured possessions, the diamond crystal necklace and tiara. I turned its neck sideways, the jewelry gave way and the door to my secret chamber opened.
I step into the dark chamber, shrouded in shadows, the only sound from the flicker of a little candle beside the door. I shut the door.
The five great leaders and sorcerers of Ecar stood in their regalia. The darkness of the room makes it impossible to make out their appearance.
The chief sorcerer of Ecar stood in the middle of the room, the air thick with the scent of old incense, the scent of home, clad in his signature black long coat. I bowed deeply in reverse.
"Debra,"
"Lord Malak," I said, my voice laced with reverence. I bow deeply to show my loyalty and respect.
"I’ve come to inquire about the progressive report. Luna Natalie, your son's wife. We are yet to receive a report of her demise," his eyes gleamed with intensity.
"Forgive me my Lord; we encountered some unforeseen complication which resulted in a delay of taking her out of the way," I bowed my head deeply. "But this I promise my Lords, she won't see the break of the next day,"
"Whatever you need to do, be fast about it, the future of Ecar depends on the death of Luna," his voice echoes. "You've made us proud over the years, but time us running out, Debra. And time is very important,"
My heart leaps with Joy. Over 38 years of working with them, the great leaders have never given a word of commendation until now.
"Thank you my lords," I beamed with smiles.
"Other reports," Lord Malak ordered.
"I've succeeded in bringing half of the Alpha council to join me, we will certainly have great success when we are ready to take over, I have also penetrated the other park under Astro Park. Victory is certainly ours my Lord," I said with my head bow.
"Very well, after the death of Luna Natalie, you must seek a bride for the Alpha, a bride who must be on our side." He ordered
"Yes my Lord,"
"Take this instruction and all previous instructions to heart, and whatever you need to do, be fast about it, the future of Ecar depends really heavily on you. Do not let us down," his voice echoes as they disappear into the tiny wind.
I stayed bowed for a few minutes reversing their presence then I gracefully stood up, collected myself for a few minutes before exiting the room. I waited for the mannequin to go back to normal. Picking a pack of cigarettes, I walked into the room.
