Chapter 14

Queen Alpha POV. “Ramon is here,” the red haired omega said to me bowing. “Let him in,” I ordered. Ramon enter dressed in simple regalia of a white shirt depicting royalty and a black trousers. His messy brown hair escaping the pomade he must have been forced to use. His posture that of a trained soldier. He bowed deeply. “Good day, your highness,” he said head still bowed. “Have a seat,” I said pointing to one of the couch on my right hand side. He walked closer toward me and sat down on first couch beside me. He sat down gracefully, I studied his composure for a moment. Ramon had always been by Kael side since they were pub. He indeed has a very wise and calculative personality. They both were trained together as Kael has insisted that if he will be Alpha and Ramon Beta, then all the training expected for him to go through as the Alpha, Ramon must go through together with him. For an effective reign; he had argue. He would be very useful to me if he join us on the team. Imagine having Ramon in my council, taking over Astro Park would be a piece of cake, but unfortunately, I’m aware of his undying loyalty to both the Park and its Alpha. He would rather die than betray the Park or Kael. What a waste of asset. “Get him a glass of wine,” I ordered the Omega, facing no one in particular, my eyes still on Ramon. The red haired Omega raced to the task. He seems to not mind my silent scrutiny. “I would beg to decline, your highness, It is still too early in the day for glass of wine,” he said politely. So modest, who rejects a drink from the Queen Alpha. I chose not to press, he is here after all for an important discussion and I need him sane and not under some alcoholic influence. I waved at the Omega to return the cup she was bringing. “How are situation in Park, Beta Ramon?” I asked sipping from my glass beating around the bush. “I would say excellent, your highness.” He said staring at me, an air of confidence around him. I nodded. “You sent for me, your highness,” he said breaking the air of silence that had formed after his reply to my last question. “Indeed, I did,” I said crossing my legs and leaned into my throne while still watching him. “May I inquire why?” I wasn’t surprised at his question, after all, it my first time asking him to see me. Each time he comes to my chambers, he is with Kael. I believe it seems awkward to him being alone with me. “Leave us,” I said to the two Omegas, they bowed down and left the room immediately, leaving Ramon and I together. “Any information about my son? I have been informed that since his outburst in the palace, 2 days ago, he is yet to return. Where is he?” I asked staring at him squarely that warm look on my face vanished into tiny air “I do not have an answer to that, your highness. The Alpha did not reveal his location to me or to any one in the Park,” he said not slightly intimated by my look or he pretended not to, if it is a pretense, then he is a very good actor. “I do not tolerate liars, Ramon. You are the Alpha’s beta, his right hand man, you expect me to believe you have no slight idea of. He was about?” I asked in total disbelief. “Though hard to believe, it is the truth, your highness. The Alpha left the palace in a hurry and effort to reach him have proven abortive. We are still trying to reach to him,” he said not cowing down. If I wasn’t an expect liar and manipulator, perhaps,I would have believed him. I stared at him suspiciously, pining him to his seat with my gaze. Its works in making people spill out the truth because they could feel like I can read their thoughts even though I can’t. Ramon still held my gaze confidently. No wonder Kael keeps him around. He is smart, he understands the ‘do not show your fear your fear no matter what’ principle. “It’s been three days, Beta Ramon,” I said a surge of anger rising in me already. “The Alpha sure knows how to hide himself properly your highness,” He said with a low smile tug at the corner of his lips. I calmed myself down a bit, indeed, Kael has always been good at hiding right from when he was a pub, so I am not surprised that even with the technological advancement in Astro Park, his whereabouts’ is yet to be discovered. “You may leave,” I said after taking a sip of my wine. “Thank you your highness,” He stood up to leave. “Wait,” I called, he pumped back into the seat. “What do you think about the park getting a new Luna?” I asked dropping the glass cup on the table. He paused and stare at me for a while before answering. “The Park indeed need a Luna who would love and take care of the Park like mother takes care of her pubs. Certain responsibilities supposed to be carried out by the Luna are currently on hold. I believe a new Luna would breathe some fresh air into this palace,” he said. Wise answer, “What of Kael, do you think he needs a new Luna?” I asked. “To the best of my knowledge, the Alpha is still mourning and would not appreciate the suggestion of a new mate,” He replied, I could see the deep concern for his best friend rooted in his gaze. “You have a new assignment and you must carry it out. Make the Alpha succumbs to the desire of getting a new Luna, our Park needs one and it is my duty as the Queen Alpha to ensure it is not lacking one.” I ordered. “Your highness…” he started but I interrupted him. “It is an order. You may leave,” I said with a note of finality. He paused for a while and stood up to leave. He stood contemplating whether to say something. Deciding, it would be better to leave, he bowed and walked out of the room. “I am not fully convince that Ramon doesn’t know where Kael is, Find out and let me know,” I said into my bracelet. “As you wish,” came the reply.
