I watched Hawk walk away without looking back. Next, I turned, and my eyes met those of Smoke. I quickly averted my gaze, and I heard him chuckle.
“How long are you going to keep trying to hide from me?”
I rolled my eyes. For as long as he lets me be. Why the hell is he trying to look at me after that embarrassing encounter last night?
“You f**k Hawk every night, but you don’t run away, do you?” His voice made me halt, but I swallowed my words and pushed on.
Smoke was trying to get a reaction from me, and I chose not to give him that.
