Chapter 1: The Lost. Jennifer Jones's POV: (Female protagonist.) . . . . . . Bang...!!! " NO..." I screamed and immediately woke up from my sleep. No. Not again. Oh, God... One day these nightmares will take my life away. So many years have passed since that accident, but still, I can't forget it. They keep hindering me over and over. But how can I even forget it when it takes away all of my happiness in just the blink of my eye? Yes !!! All my happiness. My small family. Both of my parents. My everything. I lost my parents in a car accident when I was a kid. ***** Jennifer's childhood FLASHBACK ***** It was my birthday, and l was standing on the pavement outside my school's premises. My parents were coming to pick me up because we were going out for lunch together and then they said that they had a surprise for me. And like all the other children, I was super excited because we were going out together. Though it was just lunch, I had a very deep urge for it as recently my parents had been very busy with their work. So, whenever our small family gathers, it means a lot to me. They do try their best to spend their time with me, especially on weekends. But that's not enough for me. I want more. Amm... I love them so much that I can't live without them for so long. I miss them so so much. So today, as a gift, I have demanded their time. Yes..!! So that they can spend more time with me. Haahh!!! That would be great. And I know they won't and can't deny this little wish of mine. . . . . Oh, here they come..! I watched as their car arrived. My father waved his hand towards me from the car, as if telling me to wait for him and he would come and get me. But all of a sudden something happens... something very baffling happens. O, God..! No. That... That can't be true... That can't be. ''....D...D..AD... ...M...O..M " I screamed from the top of my lungs because what I saw was terrible. I saw a big truck crash with my parent's car from behind. The thrust was so powerful that it made their car flip twice in the air and... and then it fell on the road. BANG...!! The car fell facing the ground due to which all window glasses broke down, making a banging sound. As I was standing on the other side of the road, I saw the whole accident right through my naked eyes. Witnessing this whole scene happening in front of me. Roadside - my father's happy face - Our Car - Truck - Bang - Black. All these things kept circulating in my mind and suddenly darkness surrounded me. I lost consciousness and fell to the pavement. . ........... . Darkness... Complete Darkness. All I could register was darkness. After hardly getting my senses back, I gradually opened my eyes, which felt too heavy to even open. However, I still try to open it with all the strength left in me. For some nanoseconds, the scenario was quite blurred for me. The first thing that came to my mind was where am I ?? And what am I doing here ?? And secondly - Where are MOM and DAD??..?. Where... Where are they ??? I sit straight on the bed lying and try to clear my vision by smudging my eyes with my fingers. I smudged my eye a few times and after some fraction of time, I saw ...my uncle..... Uncle Benjamin..!! Wait, what is he doing here??? Uncle Ben was standing beside the hospital bed on which I was. When he notices that I am awake, he turns around and gives me a pathetic kind of smile and then turns to the doctor who is checking some reports, I guess. I tried to open my mouth to speak but to no avail. But the worst thing is that I was not able to figure out what was happening and what exactly happened. Though I have some foreign feelings raising in me. It's telling me that something is wrong... Or maybe everything is wrong..!? Somehow, I can sense that I lost something. But what... What in particular..??? And why is uncle Benjamin here..?? Where are my parents..?? Where are they?? Why do I feel that way???? ..... .... ... .. . ............................................................................................................................ . . . . .
