Chapter 2: An Idea

1116 Words
Cianan’s POV I could hear how fast her heart was beating when she made that snarky remark. “Did I fulfill your request?” I said mockingly in my thoughts. She was nervous but good at hiding her emotions on her face. If it weren’t for my heightened sense of hearing, I would have thought this girl was truly confident in herself. Standing tall and courageous as she dared to mock her king, but her racing heart gave her away. I knew she was playing games with me now. So why not join in on the fun? Her eyes turned a dark blue when I responded. I couldn’t tell if she was angry or upset when I said she was looking full, but I wasn’t going to stay and find out. My temper may have subsided a bit, but if I had stayed, I may have given her a lesson right then and there. I made sure to lock the door behind me, to let her know that I was still in control of this loveless marriage. It’s been two weeks since we wed. I don’t know why I agreed to marry this ungrateful brat, but her mother was a very convincing woman at the time. I needed a wife and heirs, and she happened to fit the bill at the time. She was a high ranking commander’s daughter, which only supported why she was broader than most women. Perhaps he taught her how to fight. Looking back, I don’t know what her mother said to convince me to marry her but when I saw her for the first time, my heart nearly gave out. She was and is beautiful, with her long strawberry blonde wavy hair, those baby blue eyes, the little freckles that cover her nose and forehead. Her slightly olive colored skin made her baby blue eyes and strawberry blonde hair bright enough to guide you in the dark. She looked like a goddess. Strong and built to handle her own. Slim but her dress had given away her natural curves in the lower half of her body. Her beauty was hypnotic. Sometimes I think with the wrong brain, and I thought she was perfect at first, until after the ceremony, she ran off and wasn’t seen for two days. She escaped, trying to get away from her new life. When she was found and brought back to the castle, that’s when that mouth of hers started running. I disregarded whatever good thoughts I had of her when I realized her attitude was taller than her. So for the past two weeks, its been nothing but a nightmare with her rebellion antics. This is why I keep her locked in her room. Just because she is my wife doesn’t mean she can be disrespectful to me. She’s lucky I have not already thrown her in the dungeon for her malicious tone with me. But I needed an heir, and I haven’t even grazed her skin let alone have s*x with her. She was frustrating to be around. The only thing that kept me tamed was her beauty. The way she could look at you and you would think you were under a spell. God she was so beautiful. Why couldn’t she be the obedient wife I needed? She sure was different from every other woman I had met. Maybe I liked the little fire in her. It kept me on my toes, but then I snap back to reality and realize that she’ll go off on her antics again with the maids or guards around, which may give them the impression that they were allowed to treat me this way, too. I don’t know what I’m going to do with her. I turned from her door when I heard a slight chuckle coming from behind me. “What are you going to do with her?” Derek laughed. “Piss off Derek. Im frustrated enough with her, don’t make me take my anger out on you.” “Oh come on, Cianan. I have to admit, it’s quit entertaining to listen to. She has an incredible fire and personality to her. I truly don’t know how her mother convinced you to marry her. It’s unfortunate that the both of you are a like in many ways, which can be the reason for all of theses riffs between you two.” Derek said as he placed his hand on my shoulder guiding me down the hall to my room. “I don’t know how she did it either. I thought with the wrong brain at the time.” “I think you need to give it time, my king. You also need to show her patience and kindness.” “I have no patience for her and until she shows some respect, kindness will not be shown.” “And maybe that’s where we need to start. Look, you clearly want her around. If not, you would have thrown her in the dungeon by now. While her beauty may interfere with your thought process, I know you’ll come to your senses and give her time to adjust. If you haven’t realized it by now, she’s quit terrified. I could hear her heart almost beat out of her chest just before you came out of the door.” We stopped at my room and Derek patted my shoulder. “I have faith in you, my king, that you will find a way to make her fall for you. Hopefully soon, you can relieve your mind, too.” He said winking at me. She was a tease. God I just wanted to make her mine. Her mouth kept getting in the way. But Derek said something that made me smile with an idea. “I may have a way to get her to fall for me.” “I’m sure you do, my king. Get some rest. We have an ample amount of work to get through tomorrow. Too many meetings to attend, as well.” Derek exclaimed placing his hand on his face and sighing. “Thank you, Derek. I will see you in the morning.” He bowed before turning around and strolling down the half moon-lit hall. I opened my door and entered my room. I took off my shirt and threw it on the floor as I jumped into bed. She was exhausting. That idea of mine played around in my head. “I’m sure this little lesson of mine will teach her to mind her tongue” I said slyly to myself with a smile. I chuckled a little with the idea and fell asleep as soon as my eyes closed.
