Chapter 9Ash was panting. He could feel his cousin’s sharp teeth in his back as he pulled away, and yelped at the feeling of flesh being torn from the bone. He leapt away, despite the pain, then turned to face Jack. Jack looked even more tired than Ash felt. He was breathing heavily and he seemed less steady on his feet, even as Jack grinned at him with blood dripping from his teeth. In his moment of triumph, Ash could tell that Jack let his guard down. He took that opportunity to launch himself yet again at his cousin. Surprised, Jack collapsed beneath him, and Ash pressed his teeth into the vulnerable flesh of Jack’s neck.
