Chapter 9

1053 Words
POV Miracle I was rudely woken up from my dream by Sam. “Mira, wake up! You must get ready, or we will be late meeting the others” he was shouting and shaking my shoulder. I opened my eyes and glared at Sam and pulled the blanket back over my head. Only for Sam to grab it and pull it completely off me. He wasn’t going to stop. “Fine, just stop shouting,” I said. I stood up to stretch and make my way to the bathroom. I normally was up and off to work by this time. Oh no, I would have to let Gina know that I wouldn’t be coming to work for a while. Would I ever be able to return to my normal life again? What about my apartment, and all my belongings? My thoughts were just racing, so much has changed since meeting Andre. I was pulled from my worries when I heard a knock on the door. “Mira, you better be getting ready, we don’t have time for your dilly dally today,” Sam said through the bathroom door. “I am getting ready, don’t you worry your pretty little head, Sam”. “Besides, they will wait for me, this is the history of my ancestry, ya know,” I said to Sam. I heard him huff and walk away from the door. I am sure he didn’t like that. I have to admit, that I was starting to like all this attention, and being in charge. I was always the quiet one, following everyone else. Maybe Jenny could help me have more self-confidence. As I hurried to make myself presentable to my warriors, I remembered my dream. Was it a dream or was the dreamscape real? I wanted to go back to Ezra, I wanted to feel him touching me again. My body was craving more than just his touch. What would it feel like to be wrapped in his strong arms, feeling his breath on my neck? What would our first kiss be like? Would I feel more than tingling running through me? I wanted to blurt everything out of the dream to Sam and Ronny. But I knew I couldn’t. This had to be a secret that only my mate and I had. I am sure it will be the first of many secrets to come. I knew that he was in danger and that I shouldn’t be pursuing him. If I did, I could be kidnapped, and who knows why his father wants to do with me. What was truly behind the feud between my birth mother and his father? I would have to make a point to ask Andre if he knew. For now, I needed to focus on reaching my birth mother. Once I was finished getting ready, I looked in the mirror one last time. I told myself “You can do this; you are now an alpha and you have your people to lead”. It felt good knowing that I had warriors that looked up to me in admiration. Not too bad for little old Miracle Grey, the outcast of her family. I opened the door to Ronny and Sam waiting patiently by the door. “Finally, we can get out of here,” Sam said. “Leave her alone, it has been a lot for her”, Ronny said as he beamed a smile at me. We opened the door to the others waiting for us outside Andre’s door. All the warriors bowed their heads as I walked past them and knocked on Andre’s door. Andre answered and waved us all in. The smell of fresh coffee hit my nose. There were 3 tables with chairs set up by the window for all of us to sit. Andre had the restaurant send up coffee and an assortment of pastries for everyone. “Please, everyone have a seat and some coffee. I am going to try to set up a PowerPoint on the TV to make our history easier to explain”, Andre said. “Ron, I need your help, I am not good with these computer things”. Ronny eagerly helped Andre set up the PowerPoint while the rest of us helped ourselves to the coffee and pastries. Jenny had sat next to me; I beamed her a smile. I never had any true girlfriends growing up. I didn’t know how to act around other girls, it had always been Ronny and Sam. Most of the girls in school would only try to be my friends to get in with Ronny. Ronny knew what the girls were doing and would never give them the time or day. “Good morning, how are you doing today?” I asked Jenny. “Good morning, I am just peachy keen your Majesty. Did you sleep well?” Jenny responded. “Yes, I did, a little too well for Sam’s liking it seems,” I said with a chuckle. Sam heard me and sent me a glare. “Don’t you glare at her, or I will teach you a lesson, wart” Jenny said to Sam. Oh no here we go, she just challenged him. “WART? Whom are you calling a wart, wolf girl? And I will do what I please to my best friend”, Sam responded. Jenny went to get up and go after Sam, so I gently grabbed her arm. “It’s OK, he means well. We have always been this way”, I told her. Jenny looked at Sam and stuck her tongue out. I loved her playful nature. Andre cleared his throat to get everyone’s attention, “I did not prepare this, obviously. If there is anything that anyone notices to be untrue, or incorrect. Please let me know and I will relay that information to Gregory back home”. “ OK, Ron is going to start this for us, so everyone keep the chatter down,” Andre told us. I took a deep breath; I was about to learn about my ancestry. To know who I truly was, not the human I was raised to be. I tried to sit up straighter in my chair, felt like I was in school again.
