The Run

"good morning Alpha, morning my lovely Luna" Derrick said teasing his parents. "You know we are your parents right mom and dad is fine" the Luna said knowing her son's intentions. "I know but, I'm addressing you how I'll like to be addressed" Derrick responded while winking at his parents. They enjoyed their breakfast and went on to their separate agendas.

"did your parents, mention anything about their meeting?" Kyle asked Derrick nope, I also didn't ask I guess they have a reason why it's a secret". "I guess" Kyle said. "lets go for a run" Derrick said while taking off into the forest.

"this feeling, running in the woods hearing the smallest insect, the birds chirping the wind hitting your face......" yes I know, the breeze blowing our fur that feeling is magical" Kyle happily injected. "You remember the first time we race together? " Derrick asked menacingly. Kyle didn't like where this was going. "yes I do" he said "do you remember how it felt running into that tree over there" Derrick pointed at the huge tree ahead of them. "I will never forget that feeling" Kyle couldn't help but laugh at remembering his first race. He was so focused on winning the race he ran into the tree, the sudden headache he got wasn't even funny for a moment. He thought that would've been the last day of his time on earth.

"slow down and make a left, could never mean continue down the same path and increase your speed" his annoyed wolf clay shouted. Kyle wasn't the only one who felt the impact from the tree. "is that a your head imprinted" Derrick laughed Kyle just continued as if no one had spoken this made Derrick laughed even louder. When Kyle hit the tree Derrick turned immediately and went to help his friend he carried him out of the woods and straight into the nursing Bay. He stayed the night with his friend while they were running tests and monitoring to make sure no serious head injuries had incur. Although they heal quickly their head and heart are slowest sometimes never heal.

They reached their favorite spot where there is a beautiful lake. They jumped into the warm water and relaxed. This lake is more special than the other two because the water is always warm. No one could ever remember a time when the water was cold. They were told because of their ancestors obedience to the moon goddess this was one of their many rewards. A lake with warm water at all times. They were also told if the water ever goes cold it will be as cold as ice and that's when they have angered the moon goddess.

"I don't want to leave this place, I just want to sleep" Kyle said totally relaxed in the water. "just don't drown on my watch please" Derrick said smirking at his best friend. Kyle went under water and pulled Derrick under they both break out into a friendly scuffle, then returned at the top for air.

"I know I could find you here" Maya Kyle's. "obviously, that's what any mate can do" Derrick said rolling his eyes at her "huhhhh, wasn't expecting you to know about, given the circumstance" she said smirking silly. Kyle laughed to his heart content. Derrick laughed but that hurt both him and Rayn. "she's the first to be banished when I becomes Alpha" Derrick said to Kyle pretending Maya wasn't there, clay growled at Derrick. "you'll definitely lost your Beta" she said looking at Kyle. "You two need to get along. Nobody is being banished, nobody is losing their Beta, let's go grab lunch". Kyle said while rubbing his growling stomach.

The trio made their way to the kitchen. Saturdays at the pack house is known as buffet day. They can choose a variety of things to eat. They had the option of ribs, steak, lobster and a lot more to choose from. They joined there friends at the table each holding to separate plate of food. "who doesn't love Saturday" Derrick said feeling satisfied with his choosen meals. "do I have room for dessert?" maya asked "of course don't be silly, there's always room for dessert" her wolf answered.

"my stomach is at capacity, I think I need nap time" Kyle exclaimed. They all went to the TV room. This is the best room at the pack house all chairs are the comfy reclined ones. It has surrounded sound system, 110inch flat screen smart television. A smart fridge, microwave to heat popcorn. They lit a floral candle while Maya choose a romantic movie. "well wake me up when it's over" Kyle exclaimed Derrick and few other guys nodded in agreement.

"I can't believe there isn't any cure for your ailment, my love." Luna Maria while rubbing her husband's back. "with the money we can't even properly fix your health... What am I to do without you my love?" the Luna asked with tears in her eyes. "I'm sorry my love, the most we can do is enjoy the remaining time we have together.... When Derrick takes over we will spend our time exploring the world and creating the most precious memories. Once Derrick find his Luna and I'm no longer here I know they'll take special care of you my love" the Alpha responded. "we must tell Derrick about this" "we will once the time is right, let's just make all provisions and arrangements with the other packs first" the Alpha said. Kissing his wife's chest.
