The Moon Goddess

644 Words

Luna Gabby’s POV I opened my eyes and found myself back in the present. The weight of my daughter’s disappearance pressed down on me, and I felt like I was suffocating in the loss. How did this happen? How had I failed her? “Luna Gabby?” The voice of my maid snapped me from my thoughts, and I blinked, focusing on her again. She had been standing there, waiting for my attention. “What is it?” I asked, my voice strained, a mixture of frustration and grief. “The guard has left, as ordered,” she said, bowing respectfully. “He will search the surrounding lands.” I nodded, my mind still not fully here. “Good. Keep me updated,” I replied, though my words were distant. As she left, I returned to my seat, my hands pressed tightly together, as if holding onto something that was slipping away.
