Luna Gabby’s POV The rustling in the trees grew louder. My heart started pounding in my chest, each beat matching the rhythm of my nerves. I almost ran forward, but I couldn’t afford to lose control, not now. I could feel my wolf form pressing against my skin, desperate to break free, but I forced myself to stay still. I had to protect my image, to show strength. Then, I heard it. “Mother!” My heart skipped a beat. It was Lira’s voice. After all these years, I’d almost forgotten what it sounded like.
