“Your enemies are still out there,” Henry said quietly, glancing at the woods around us. “And they know exactly where you are. They’ve been tracking you.”
“Enemies?” I repeated, confused. “Who are they? Why are they after us?”
“I can’t explain everything now,” Henry said, shaking his head. “But they’re after lira and Kedan. They’ll stop at nothing to find him.”
I glanced at Lira. “They’ve been after her all this time?”
“Yes,” Henry said. “And it’s only a matter of time before they catch up. We have to get you out of here.”
I took a deep breath. “And you want us to follow you?”
“Not for long,” he said quickly. “Just for tonight. It’s a few miles to my camp. It’s safer there. We’ll be able to talk, regroup, and plan our next move.”
“Our? .... I don’t know, Henry...”
