MARIA
It was hard to believe where I was standing. The air here was warm and there was green. I could clearly see the blueness of the sky. Something I hadn't seen in well over two years. I cant help but wonder about where this would lead us. If we were destined to fall and die or if this place here was our ticket to the future I as so many others here had dreamed of.
"Cut to it Maria I have other things to do"
I stared at the old grump. His back hunched with the weight of truths and tragedy he had carried around. Most of the time it was his bright yet eagle eye grand son that took these...….'interviews' of sorts. The man standing in front of me at one point would have chilled me to my core would have frightened me now a days there wasn't much that did that. And certainly not one person here scared me.

3 Years and 18 days ago
Getting thrown into the back of a truck against my will wasn't exactly what I called a pleasant end to an already shitty week. 4 Days ago I had attended the funeral of the only family I knew. My mother Jamie, My father James and brother Dakota had been hit in a three way crash on the way to get me from school. We were close my brother Dakota was a senior and spent half his days at my parents small law firm preparing to take over the place when the time was right. They always all came together to pick me up. My family worked my parents were like teenagers I had seen in school just as lovey and still looked at each other with magic in there eyes.
They had been college sweethearts and three months after they met they married by the time I was born they had already been together for 15 years. It was sickeningly sweet how happy they were together. My brother had always had a knack for righting wrongs using guidelines and rules so it was no shock when he started interning for my parents.
They never showed up that day. They still hadn't shown up. The fact that my picture perfect cinderella tale family had ended with a crash hadn't set in. I was still waiting for them to come home. Figuring maybe they had just gone on a trip and I hadn't remembered.
I have been staying in the house still in a somewhat glazed fog not yet barreling in my own tears.
So when I got home tonight to find a man with a letter my parents had stored in a lock box at the bank saying I was going to go live with my mom's sister who I had never met or heard of I demanded to stay where I was. If you hadn't guessed yet that didn't happen.
My mothers family lived far away from us in some small town in Europe at the bottom of a giant mountain. I had googled 'Rockshire ' about two hours into this drive. The pictures had a heavy feel to them and everything was foggy and grey. There weren't many articles about it either mainly ones talking about it in passing. Overall google search fail.
