Chapter three

Lorren’s POV I stared at it before declining the call but he kept calling back prompting me to block his line. I don’t know why he was calling me back now but I don’t want to know. I just wish to stay as much far away as I could to him, seeing him again could open up old weakness and sadness. I went to the bedroom to take a shower, after I was done bathing, I settled for a yellow floral dress with a black sandal as I took my small purse and went out. I wanted to check out the company set up and since we’ll be opening fully next week after renovation, I wanted it to be perfectly done. Now, nobody had nothing on me. I was free and okay. But who could have imagine just a fall from him could disrupt the mood I’ve kept since. “Bastard!” I murmur under my breath before going out. I took my phone from the dressing table before going out. Damian’s POV I sighed out sitting on my working chair as I opened my laptop to finalize the contract deal. I couldn’t concentrate on the document in front of me as her face kept popping up and distracting me. “Is she fine?” I was worried, I can’t deny that. Seeing her face, she was looking disappointed and sad when she saw me the last time but I didn’t have any choice but to let go. Or maybe I do have a choice. I breathed in clamping my hands into my hair, “f**k!” I groan in frustration. I didn’t mean divorcing her, I don’t even know how I felt for her. And even though I was harsh during the time I asked her to abort our baby, I don’t know, I really didn’t mean it but I needed to do something to make her leave. For some odd reasons, I have never doubted Bella since she came and told me about our affairs even though I couldn’t remember ever touching her but I could remember not touching her. I was just guilty and wanted Lorren to have better, not me that ended up having an affair on her even when I thought I could actually make it work out. She explain to me how I was drunk and drugged and forced myself on her which was why I decided to be responsible for her. But then I was in love with Bella also, I wanted her to be free and I just thought leaving her was the only way. I didn’t realize I was so deep into my thoughts until Bella’s voice made me came back to reality. She stood up sharply, “Is this about Lorren again? You are thinking about her again.” I sighed out. Ever since she was gone, I felt something was missing inside of me. I missed her, I wouldn’t lie and I can’t even deny the feelings I was having for her. “Bella…” “I’m sorry, it’s just so overwhelming.” I watched her roll her eyes as she picked up the document for the contract I just signed. “No. It’s fine actually, I don’t seem to care much either.” I raised a brow to what she said, what does she mean. I wasn’t given much time to process it. Steve came in wearing this mischievous smile on his face, “Hi boss.” I looked from Bella to Steve trying to understand what was happening but it suddenly started becoming clear when Steve kissed Bella. “What the f**k do you two think you are doing?” I frowned balling my fist out of anger as I stood up. “I’ll explain.” Bella answered signaling to Steve to start talking. “This was it. You know, I’ve never seen a man so gullible and stupid like you are, defrauding you wasn’t hard at all.” “I just needed to look for the one you loved the most to come back and act like you mean the world to her.” They both laughed, some clues started picking up in my mind. The signs I was finding suspicious started making more sense. “You two are having an affair.” My shocked face was visible. “Not just that Damian, now everything you have is now ours. Your company and your money.” Bella said. “What do you mean?” I asked panicked as Bella showed me clearly the document I just signed and I realized it was for property owner transfer and also for the company. I checked my account and saw all my cards had been declined. To think I didn’t notice because I didn’t really needed anything. “I trusted you Steven, how could you two do this to me.” I shouted angrily ready to attack him but Bella’s next statement took me off making me stop. “From the beginning, I never loved you. I just wanted your wealth and your heart never belonged to me but elsewhere.” “You betrayed her so what should I expect in mine? That you’ll love me, you were clearly in love with her, so I rather team up with someone that loves me instead.” I staggered at what she said. “But I chose you, even though I didn’t know what I was feeling but I still chose you Bella.” She nodded her head negatively. “No, you were obsessed. And don’t be too overworked up or try attacking us with anger right now or you might end up dying…” She paused, “I have been drugging your food for as long as I can remember.” That was her conclusion. The two of them burst out laughing as they began walking out, I tried to follow them but I collapsed on the floor gasping for breath, my hand reach out for my phone as I dialed the only number I could think of, Lorren. But she didn’t pick up, I tried a few more times then it went unreachable before my eyes went closing. ****** I woke up at the hospital with the doctor beside me trying to remove the drip from my body. I was confused, I didn’t know exactly what to think of or what to say. “You are awake.” The doctor said, he inspect me for few minutes before letting me go. “Thankfully, one of your maids found you in your office, or you’ll have been dead by now, why take such a dangerous drugs into your body system. But that wasn’t what mattered right now, I removed the drip from my hand looking everywhere for Bella or Steven. I don’t want to believe the two most trusted person of mine could do this to me, defrauding me of everything I had. I trusted them. Steven bring my secretary, and Bella being my wife. I crouched on the floor feeling miserable as my tears started flowing down in pain. This can’t happen to me. It really can’t happen to me. I stood up taking my phone that was on the table beside the hospital bed checking out the last cent inside my account but it was barely enough for me to use for transport. I was frustrated but I remember the last piece of information I got, Lorren’s house address. I was planning on investing in her new company. Now things were starting to look out for me, from me wondering why Lorren wasn’t using my cards to me finding out all my cards had been canceled except the one only I and Bella used almost everyday. I wanted a second chance, to make up for everything I had done and lost. To apologize for everything I did to Lorren, to get back everything I’ve lost. Everything had taken a troll on me but I still walked towards outside. I flagged down a cab, it was already late in the evening, I told him my destination as I entered. The ride was a little bit long but we got there, I stepped down from the cab handing him the last money on me as he rode away. I saw Lorren and the three kids no doubt was mine walking inside together with a man, I couldn’t help to shout her name. She looked back but seeing it was me, she just entered into the small mansion. Lorren’s POV After picking up the kids, Tyler came to pick me up at the office as we all went back home together, the happiness overfilled in the air. I already gotten over the calls I got from Damian earlier this morning, just as we stepped out from the car. I had thought I saw a reflection of Damian but tried to ignore the thoughts. ”Lorren.” I heard someone shout my name from behind as we all stopped to look at who it was. A voice so familiar that I knew too well, Damian
