It had been several hours since Lincoln made lunch for Abby. The moon shone bright into the big glass window in the penthouse. Lincoln and Abby were watching a movie that he let her pick out after she had finished eating her omelette and sausages. The big screen covered one side of the wall and the living room was only lit up by the light from the tv.
She hadn't heard of any of the cartoons and was mesmerized by it. They hadn't done anything besides watching movie which Lincoln didn't mind since Abby seemed to enjoy it so much. It was their third movie that night. He also figured that since this was a more calming activity that it would help Abby feel more comfortable in his space. It was hers now too. He also decided to wait before telling her the rules he had prepared. He wanted her to be in peace for at least a few more days without the pressure of anything.
She had opened up a little more since dinner. There wasn't any new tears and she called him daddy again earlier to ask for water which he felt over the moon about. At least she has gotten used to one thing.
'Baby, it's late.' he said. He was laid on the coach with his arms folded over his chest while Abby sat on the floor to get closer to the tv. He felt his eyes glaze as he waited for her response. It had been a long day and he needed the bed.
She ignored him and continue watching the movie.
'Abby.' Lincoln called out louder. She continued watching the cartoon rabbit on the screen stealing vegetables from an old mans garden.
Lincoln sighed and reached for the remote before clicking the button turning the tv off. Abby jumped up and gasped.
What happened to the pretty bunny? She thought.
'Daddy, tv.' Abby said pointing worriedly at the screen as she turned to look at him with big eyes and a sad frown. Her voice was still in a whisper tone but she sounded distressed.
'Yes, I turned it off. It's time for bed.' Lincoln explained sitting up from his position on the couch.
'No..tv.' she begged. Lincoln smiled at her adorable sad face kneeling beside the television begging to have it turned back on.
'We can continue tomorrow okay? Right now, you need to go to bed. I don't want you to feel cranky the next day.' Lincoln stood from the couch and walked towards her. She pouted and touched her fingers to the screen longingly again before Lincoln carried her into his arms. She was no longer tense whenever the prince held her and she was getting much better. Her eyes never left the tv as Lincoln walked away from it and it slowly went out of sight.
'Are you okay with daddy giving you a bath, sweetheart?' Lincoln asked. Abby nodded, her innocence preventing her from understanding what the big deal is.
Lincoln went to grab her clothes that have now been neatly organised in the drawers. He took out a onesie, some matching socks and a hair tie while Abby sat on the bed waiting patiently as she played with the new fluffy duvet beneath her.
When Lincoln was done planning her outfits he turned to her and carried her to the bathroom and setting her down on the counters next to the sink.
'Do you want bubbles, baby?'
Abby shook her head. She didn't like them. It made her nervous when she can't see the water beneath her. Also, they are a huge mess. And she didn't like that.
Lincoln looked at her shocked before smiling and continued preparing the bath. He decided to just add some soap colouring to the water that created a beautiful blue colour in the tube, just to make the experience a little more fun for her.
'Alright come on, let's get you in.' Lincoln said and turned to her. He picked her up, removed her clothes one by one until she was fully bare. Lincoln lifted her and helped her into the tub. Abby smiled at the warm water on her skin, loosening up any knots she had from being so tense the whole day.
She immediately gravitated to the plants that were decorating the windows that was next to the bathtub. It was an ivy that climbed to the grids and Abby smiled wider as she grabbed a leaf with her fingers, examining it with interest.
She giggled as she moved around in the warm water and holding the plant, playing with it gently. It was relaxing and it made the prince happy too. He loved seeing her adorable smile which he don't get to see often.
The bathroom was quite with only the sound of the Littles giggles and splashing. Lincoln sat next to the tub with his legs bent close to him. He laid his arms on the rim of the bath and rested his chin on his forearm, looking at Abby in amazement. She was so innocent. So pure. How could anyone even think of sending her to a blood bank. He felt anger in him just thinking about the fact. He couldn't let that happen. She has only been with him for a few hours but he had already gained a sense of protectiveness around her.
Almost a possessive feeling. But it was all just innocent.
'Are you ready to be clean now?' Lincoln asked as he saw that Abby was still playing with the plant. She turned and nodded. Lincoln bit his tongue, deciding not to tell her to use her big girl voice since he didn't know if that would ruin the mood that was in the bathroom.
He proceeded with grabbing the bottle of soap and squirting some on his hands, lathering it up. Abby looked at him with interest when he reached down and started rubbing the soap onto her skin.
She giggled at his fingers. It felt nice and gentle. Lincoln was gentle. Abby knows that now.
She stared at his face while he cleaned her. He was handsome, but not in a dangerous way. More like a clean shaven, angelic kind of way. He didn't have much of a stubble and his black eyes made him look innocent and soft.
'Do I have something on my face?' Lincoln asked after Abby's intense staring.
'No...handsome daddy.' she softly said with a smile.
Lincoln's grin grew bigger to show his perfect teeth.
'Thank you, baby.' he said and went to turn on the faucet to drain the bath and fully cleanse the soap off Abby.
Abby didn't stop staring at his face. She looked at him as he washed her off and when he was finally done, he turned around breaking her eye contact. Lincoln grabbed the towel from the side and came back, wrapping her up in it before carrying her out.
The prince did noticed that Abby wasn't tensing you the way she did a few hours ago when he got close to her. She was more accepting of his touches.
Lincoln was surprised at how fast Abby was adapting to him considering the fit she threw in the car. He had expected it to have taken a few days for them to really bond but it seems that they both had been getting along really well in just a few hours.
'There, you're ready for bedtime.' Lincoln said after helping her wear her last sock. Abby looked at her pyjamas and frown in confusion. She didn't owned this. It was a green jumpsuit with little spaceships on it.
'Do you like it, sweetheart? I bought this before you got here. I'm sorry if you prefer more feminine colours. I was leaning more towards getting a boy before I got you.' Lincoln explained. Her room was different from the typical pink or purple rooms that girl Littles have but she didn't mind it. It was just colours at the end of the day.
Abby didn't reply so Lincoln carried her and they went into her room. He set her down in her bed before passing her cotton, making sure the sides were up so she wouldn't fall off.
'Do you want a bedtime story?' Lincoln asked.
Abby shook her head and smiled at him. She sat back and laid on the pillow, feeling safe and content. It has been awhile since she felt so secure. The prince took a seat on the corner of the bed and tuck her in under the blanket.
'Daddy protect me?' Abby said under the sheets.
'Always, darling.'
