Gevia's P.O.V Fortunately, Aeron left the party early because she and her family were going to celebrate Christmas together. Joshua called to tell me that they were on their way. He sounded so excited, squealing into the input device of his phone. I had to create some distance between my ear and the phone, otherwise my ear would have been damaged. I laughed so hard. I wasn't the only eager one to spend Christmas with him. "What's with the big smile on your face? Did you like spending the day with Aeron?" Daddy had a teasing smirk on. He was sipping his pre-evening tea, reading a newspaper while rocking on his chair even though it wasn't really a rocking chair. He was comfortable with his clothes. He didn't even bother dressing up for the matter. He wasn't time conscious at all. As if visitors weren't coming. Or is it that he has thought of Joshua and his family as our own? That tugged my heart a bit. He nonchalantly looked at me, flipped a page and turned to look back at his newspaper. He was reading thoroughly. "You know that's not it." "Do you not like Aeron?" my eyebrows furrowed on their own. My reaction itself was repulsive. "What? No, I don't like Aeron like that." "Then who do you like?" I shook my head, shrugging. I didn't want to answer him so quickly. It had only been a few days since I acknowledged my feelings for Alex. Plus, Alex and I are supposed to be enemies. I didn't want to break the rule of us being competitive against each other. There are a lot of consequences. If it was a harsh punishment for me, I know for a fact that it was going to be harsher on Alex's part. I didn't want to push my luck. "I like who I like. That's that." "Safe answer." he looked at me meekly. "But you do like girls, right?" I scoffed, unable to decipher how Daddy was able to understand that part. "What do you mean?" I sounded so offended even without actually meaning it. "Well, since you haven't been bringing guys over, of course, except for Joshua, so I thought you liked girls, or girls more." I scoffed again, but in disbelief. I opened my mouth only to close it again. I didn't have anything to say, to counter. "But, Daddy, can't I just like being alone?" he laughed. As in laughing. He closed his newspaper and straightened his seat. He looked at me in the eye, as if reading me. "You can't fool me, honey. I've been there. Teenage years are when you explore. Drugs, s*x, fights, thefts, and drama. All in there. Yep," he added a confirmation at the end of his statement, a way of reminiscing, I guess. My eyes twitched. "No relationships? Just s*x? That's it?" I tried to be a smartass to my Daddy, but he only giggled as his response. "Relationships are only a part of s*x's minority." I couldn't even begin to formulate something and he already gave me the bombshell. I will never be able to beat Daddy when it comes to debates. "I'm out," I gave up eventually. I exited his office and went to my room to prepare for the night. I had my maids shop for my gifts and had them wrap them up. Since Aeron was here earlier, I couldn't do those myself. I needed to entertain the said motherfucker, otherwise I'd die in my Daddy's hands. I wanted to look comfortable as well. I didn't want to intimidate Joshua's little siblings. "I need to look good."
