School Ruckus (3)

Gevia's P.O.V "Ehem," we heard someone clearing his throat from behind Alex. Alex only smiled before stepping away from me and sitting at the very end of the sofa. The smile on Alex's face couldn't be any more teaseful. I bit my lips and saw Joshua with a smirk. "What the heck was that?" Joshua asked, already knowing what that was. The captain sat down and fumbled for his phone. "What ever could you mean?" I tried to avoid the topic. I still don't know s**t. Joshua rolled his eyes and sat beside me. He must've felt that I was still not ready to tell him everything, so he stopped prying. I was honestly thankful that he wasn't one of those friends that force their friends to open up. He isn't even crossing any boundaries, but I know for myself that I do need to tell him. Not really a need, but a want. I want him to know things that have been happening to me and the feelings that I've been feeling. "Do you need a ride home?" Joshua asked. "Mhm, I'm just going to call my driver to come and fetch me." "I could drop you off." Alex said. "What about me, Alex?" the captain asked with a look of grief on his face. Alex glared at the captain and scowled before looking at me with a smile on Alex's face. The distaste on Alex's face when the Captain said that made me giggle. "Shut up. You're not in distress." "Who said I was in distress?" I asked, but had no intention of listening to Alex. "You go, girl." Joshua whispered to me, cheering me on as an independent woman. I stood up and called my driver to come pick me up at a specific time. The disbelief on Alex's face was worth it. I grinned, feeling like I'd won against Alex. I sat back down and crossed my legs like a senorita. "You just got rejected." the captain jokingly said to Alex. "And you were dumped." the captain opened his mouth, but no words came out. He closed it again, admitting defeat. We spend our time rubbing salt on our wounds without actually doing it. We were going around the topic, barely even touching it. We were getting burns from each other. When my driver came to pick me up, I only told Joshua that I was going now and ignored the two. "Go to school tomorrow. Let's find things out." I heard Alex say before I closed the door to Joshua's house. The next day, I did as Alex asked. I received a text from Joshua that we were supposed to go to this place. It was, apparently, a special place to him. Surprise surprise, it was the place that I had cried my heart out not too long ago. The sense of comfort the place provided was still there. When I got there, I saw Joshua, Alex and the captain already there. The school, when I arrived, was full of yellow tape. No one would be able to surpass the police, unless you have a really influential family. Joshua came with the captain in order to get passed the police. The school was deemed dangerous, but it was still accessible to a few people, like us. "You didn't get lost," Joshua was confused. It was obvious in his tone. I understand his confusion. This place was a really hard place to find, especially if you don't know your way around the campus. But I know that even if you do know your way around the campus, you wouldn't be able to guess which doors to go through. I smiled at Joshua. "Ah, I came here once. That's it. Just happened to fumble in this place." If this was Joshua's special place, that must mean that Joshua was also trying to hide away from something. Could it be related to him and the captain? But that was for another day. "After this, do you want to eat at that famous restaurant?" the captain asked, breaking the silence that engulfed us. I looked at Alex and Alex was already looking at me. Staring at me intently with something in mind. I didn't pay Alex any mind. "Isn't that, like, a few hundred dollars just to get a half-decent meal?" Joshua asked. "Yeah, don't worry though. It's my treat." "Let's focus on the matter at hand first. Why are you already thinking about food?" Alex asked. "You can't blame me. I need a lot to eat. I'm an athlete after all." "Let's just go." Alex led the way. What were we even looking for in the first place? Nobody was inside the school. The police were outside, guarding the place. There was no trace whatsoever. No drawings on the floor. Just dust and debris from the attack. The place was a mess, especially the gym. Everything looked different. Our heads kept going left and right, searching for anything out of the ordinary. I honestly think it's just a wild goose chase. Alex led us to where they think was the root of it all. Or are we just aimlessly searching for something? The more I walk, the more uncomfortable I get. "To think that they managed to get inside the school without getting detected." the captain said, kicking a little cement out of his way. "Wait, that makes sense," Joshua said. "What are you on about?" "I think this is an inside job." Joshua's ears were perked up. A bright idea had come upon his mind. That brilliant mind of his was moving. "An inside job?" Alex asked, not bothering to turn around to look at Joshua. "I heard that the school's security is quite tight." Joshua started, "But this school is known for having problematic students too, right?" I think I know where he was going with this. But I let him finish. I wanted to know everything first before cutting him off. My idea could be entirely different from his. "The school doesn't have any say in what the students want to do. For it to be an outside job, the alarm would have been triggered the moment the school detected unfamiliar firearms." Joshua proceeded to explain. "The alarm didn't go off, so that means that the school was familiar with the firearms that the students brought to school." "How do you even know all of this?" I asked with a smile. Impressed that Joshua had thought of things more thoroughly than all three of us combined. "..." Alex stood quiet. "This school is full of bitches, that's why. Since the school has a supreme system. Students could take advantage of that said system." I can only imagine the principal gritting her teeth in frustration and anger when she finds out that her own system has failed her in ways that she never thought would happen. I wanted to laugh. That principal is such a gold-digger. Always after money, and more especially fame when it comes to prestige. "Wow, you thought of things through." the captain complimented Joshua, with a pat on the head. "This was always a possibility, but I didn't actually think that that would make sense." "Well, it did. Since it was an inside job, I'm guessing it's to show the power that each student possesses. Threatening others with the said show." Alex added more to the information. It wasn't at all far off from reality. "But who?" the captain asked, suddenly turning serious. "There are a lot of conflicts in school already. Deducing to that final one would take forever and would cause suspicions." Joshua nodded his head, agreeing to my statement. "We already caused them to raise suspicion when we entered the school grounds." Alex said, countering my statement. "Of course I know that. What I'm asking is, are you ready to be more?" I heard Alex chortle. They stopped walking, causing a domino effect. Alex turned around with an evil grin on Alex's face. It was scary, yet charming. The devilish side of Alex showed. Please take me and wreck me to your heart's content. Was what I would like to say, but I'm not that crazy yet. Fortunately, I'm still sane. "Are you sure you're asking the right person?" Joshua and the captain looked at each other before smiling. "Of course I'm in. I'm already in." Joshua said, winking at me in a friendly way. I giggled and nodded my head. "I'm in." "And why are you in, huh, captain?" Alex asked, raising a war flag. "Aren't you the same? Don't you have enough on your plate already, Alex?" the captain smirked, winning the argument already. "I f*****g hate you sometimes." Alex sighed before starting to walk away. "So, what now?" Joshua asked. Alex stopped walking again. "I'm hungry too." Well, we have been walking around for hours. I was getting tired as well, and my feet hurt. I was parched too. I needed water immediately. "Let's go to that restaurant then!" the captain was always hyper when it came to food. "b***h, I'm f*****g broke!" Joshua poked the captain's side, which was to the captain's liking. "Psh, since when did I let you pay for things?" the captain said before separating from the group and calling someone. "Where is he going?" Joshua asked. "He's calling his limo." Alex answered nonchalantly. "What the f**k?" Joshua's eyebrows knitted together. "He's trying to impress you," Alex said, before looking at me and walking away too. Why did Alex look at me when they said the word 'impress'? I could never understand what went through that b***h's mind. They both left us here while they took care of their businesses. "Girl, slaaay," I patted Joshua's back. I honestly was impressed. He dusted off his right shoulder, saying that it was an easy feat. The confidence was necessary. "I just thought about it randomly last night." "You slayed that! Even Alex complimented you!" he chuckled. "We're not about to have this conversation when yesterday happened." "I- okay." I immediately closed my mouth when I realized what he was on about. I thought he had already forgotten about it. God. Just bury me please.
