Gevia's P.O.V "Daddy, what about Mommy?" Daddy stood up, and walked away, saying, "That's enough for today. I'll leave early in the morning. You go and take a rest, darling. Goodnight," It was always like this. As he turned and I watched him slowly disappear right before my eyes, I felt heavy so suddenly. He always does this. His reserved self always resurfaces whenever we talk about Mommy. I thought for sure that daddy was going to budge. His usual fluid self was out, then suddenly, he became a man of steel. I couldn't dare bring Mom up again. He was going to give me the cold shoulders for the entire night. Not like we were going to be talking anyway. I sighed, massaging my frustrated temple. I went back to my room after my failed attempt at trying to persuade daddy to not go. I was distraught. I lost that fight. Like I always do when it's daddy that I'm up against. But there's no point in agonizing over that now. I need to find a way to keep a check on daddy. He'll spat and scold me when he knows I'm tailing him, but it's better safe than sorry. "I have to do this and I need their help."
