Third Person's P.O.V
It was finally time for the gala. Joshua was preparing Gevia's makeup and dress, doing every necessary thing for the gala. He was in a really good mood, as well as Gevia. There were smiles on their faces and the atmosphere felt light. Joshua gently stroked Gevia's cheeks, massaging the skin before applying what was needed to be applied. Gevia let Joshua do his thing.
"You seem happy." Joshua started, teasing Gevia. The smile on Gevia's face was so evidently because of Alex. That smile was a different kind of smile and it wasn't there before. It was also clear that something happened to them when Joshua wasn't looking.
Gevia was still confused about her feelings. But she knows it wasn't one of the platonic ones. She knew that it was growing every day. The butterflies, the ones that she could only read about in the books, were there. The colors brightened whenever Alex was near. Everything seemed bearable to Gevia whenever Alex was with her. It was only a matter of time before she starts accepting her feelings.
"Aren't you the same?"
Gevia and Alex's plans of helping Joshua had failed. Not miserably, but it failed. They were so focused on each other that they couldn't keep their hands to themselves. While Gevia and Joshua were teasing each other, Alex was busy staring at the ceiling, reminiscing about what had happened that led to what they had now.
"f**k, I can't believe this is really happening."
Alex couldn't believe that Gevia was obviously hitting on them. The part that Gevia sought out Alex's presence first before Alex did was something that gave Alex hope. There was something that Alex hadn't planned- and that was Gevia falling. Alex couldn't help but roll around their bed, like a puppy playing in the sand.
"She's so f*****g beautiful." Alex jumped out of bed, finally getting ready for the gala. Alex anticipated Gevia's dress, and how stunning Gevia would be. It was already a given that Gevia was going to be beautiful in Alex's eyes, no matter what Gevia would wear.
Alex made sure that they were presentable enough to be called Gevia's escort. Alex forgot to mention that to Gevia, but Alex was confident that Gevia would say 'yes'. The reason why Alex was so brazen about being seen together with Gevia was because paparazzi weren't allowed this year.
Alex and Gevia were free from the eyes of the paparazzi. The owner of the island decided to establish that policy because even the owner of the island wanted a place where she could feel comfortable and at peace. You can't feel those if you have paparazzi chasing your tail. That was also the reason why Alex was so hyper. They could finally get close to Gevia without the fear of being found out.
"I'm so into this."
Joshua was finally done and Gevia gave the dress a little twirl. The dress' beautiful sparkles shone under the hotel room's lights. Gevia had a content smile on and Joshua was wearing his proud smile. The thought of Zack completely slipped their minds.
"This is gorgeous!" Gevia commented on Joshua's masterpiece. Joshua smirked, scratching his nose lightly.
"Of course. This is me we're talking about." Gevia rolled her eyes before nudging Joshua.
"Go get yours." Joshua was taken aback.
He wasn't expecting to have his own suit as well.
"Wait, really?"
"It's in your room. The wrapped one." Joshua grinned, gave Gevia a tight hug before rushing to his room.
He put on his suit and his new shoes. It was a bit matched with Gevia, but not entirely. Gevia made sure to tailor one for Joshua. Gevia wasn't going to let Joshua be alone for the entire night when she was about to get pissed. She wanted to share her anger later with Joshua.
Gevia checked herself out in the mirror while waiting for her best friend. Once her best friend came back, they both went to the reception- which was on the rooftop of the hotel where they were staying. They took the elevator to the rooftop, but it needed a key for the elevator to actually go in. The rooftop was only accessible to those who had the key.
Joshua watched in amazement as Gevia took out a card and let the scanner do its job. The elevator started going up a bit more before it dinged and opened. Joshua and Gevia were embraced by the music of the venue. The elegance the ambiance brought added to the pressure on Joshua's magnificence.
Gevia felt Joshua tense up. She had the need to pat Joshua's arm to let him know that she was there for him. Joshua gave Gevia a small appreciation smile before they started walking to check in and have their names checked for attendance. The people who were already there couldn't help but ogle their eyes at the sparkling Gevia.
Gevia stole the spotlight, especially her dress. It was a new design that no one had made yet. The dress hugged Gevia's curves well, featuring her curves that were to die for. The envious ones couldn't stop themselves from gawking at Gevia. Gevia wore the dress with proud poise.
She was definitely the star of the night. Joshua's tense posture calmed down a bit when he saw that they were staring at his masterpiece. He had a confidence boost when he saw that. Zack saw the sudden shift in Joshua's posture and smiled at him. Joshua was handsome in his suit. His masculinity showed.
Alex, who had just come out, immediately recognized Gevia's back. That flawless back that Alex had seen a couple of times bore into their mind. Alex's heart, metaphorically, stopped beating. Gevia stole Alex's heart yet again, for the nth time. There was no way that Alex was going to let Gevia get stolen from them.
That would be the death of Alex if that ever were to happen. Alex couldn't move. They were stuck in their spot inside the elevator. Only then did Alex decide to move when the elevator was about to close.
Alex walked until Gevia was in arm's reach, but Alex couldn't say anything. They were tongue tied. Gevia subtly turned her head to the side to talk to Joshua more efficiently, and that movement was enough to let Alex take a sneak peek at Gevia's face. That made Alex even more frozen.
Joshua noticed that someone was standing behind them and spun around when he saw a shocked Alex. Joshua smiled and detached Gevia's hand on his arm. Gevia was confused why he did that, but didn't ask. Joshua faced Alex and there Gevia noticed that Alex was standing there.
Gevia was also surprised at how neat and tidy Alex was. Their hair combed sleekly to the side, giving that 'daddy' vibe. Alex's sharp features looked very enticing to the eyes of the women. Gevia couldn't utter anything, as her words suddenly disappeared and she went back to being an infant.
"I'll leave you two be, but I'll be watching from afar. Don't get her pregnant." Joshua jokingly told Alex, who blushed at the statement. Joshua walked away happily, about to go to where the food was, but then stopped when he remembered something.
Crap. That Zack is still here. Joshua thought to himself, looking around while cautiously searching for the food, when he accidentally bumped into a firm chest. The person he collided with was tall and reeked of perfume that Joshua very much liked. Joshua stumbled back a bit, finding it hard to find his balance, but eventually did. He looked at who he bumped with, ready to get on his knees and apologize pathetically when he saw Zack.
Joshua immediately tensed up again, and Zack saw the sudden uptightness and backed away.
"Heeey," Joshua greeted, doubting his life decisions at the moment. Joshua awkwardly waved at Zack, making Zack chuckle humbly.
"I'm sorry if I scared you earlier," Zack started with an apologetic look. He wore his puppy eyes, which instantly captured Joshua's heart.
Now that I take a closer look at him, he's really handsome. Joshua couldn't help but examine Zack's features. He couldn't help but get lost in Zack's orbs. Zack's dominance was nowhere near him, but he was still attractive. Joshua attracted attention again. Just talking to Zack made his popularity skyrocket.
"Oh, no, it's okay. I think I was just being sensitive. I'm new to this kind of environment." Joshua gradually softens up to Zack, opening up again. Zack noticed this and decided to be chill as well.
He didn't want to make things awkward for Joshua. Acting all apologetic might trigger negative thoughts. That was what was running through Zack's mind at the moment. He was slowly assessing the situation as he didn't want to mess up again. He didn't want Joshua to stay away from him.
Unless his agent was done with a lot of digging about Joshua, Zack was going to dig a bit more personally. First-hand information was what Zack needed at the moment.
"You look surreal." Alex breathed out.
"I could say so yourself." Gevia giggled, linking her arm with Alex's. The gesture made Alex's heart flutter louder.
"Can I be your escort for the night?"
Gevia smiled brightly, even brighter than the spotlight.
"My pleasure."
They walked towards the table where they needed to get their attendance checked. They both attracted an inevitable crowd along with their admirers. They were the talk of the night, even surpassing the word of mouth.
Alex couldn't help but want to blow up. The girl of their dreams was finally in front of them. Smiling, happy with linked arms and a perfect dress that made the stars cry because of its alluring beauty.
"Name- oh, I'm so sorry. Your names are checked. Thank you very much."
