Heritage Of Love

Simula Hatred, pain, regret, and guilt enveloped my whole system while looking at the ultrasound picture of my daughter. My hands started to shake and my eyes filled with tears. "Goodmorning, love." Yance kissed my forehead. He sat beside me. I smiled at him, "Morning."  "You don't have work?" He asked. I sipped on my coffee. Nakatanaw kaming dalawa sa labas ng balkon. The sea is so beautiful. Everything in this place is beautiful. Limang taon na ang nakalipas ngunit ang ganda ng El Rancho ay hindi parin nakupas. Maganda lahat at halos perpekto. This place is almost a paradise. I lost so much here. "Mamaya pa. I have to check my patients," I said. He nodded. Slowly, he put his head on my shoulder. "You're going to visit Manila, right?" I asked. "Hmm. I need to see if Ylena is doing well." Napatango ako. I closed my eyes as the winds blow. Nakangiting hinawak ko ang kamay ni Yance. He squeezed my hands then kissed the back of my palm. "Call me when you need something, okay?" he said softly. Nakangiting tumango ako. "Where's Hailey? Is she still sleeping?" I pouted a bit. He chuckled then nodded. "Our daughter  is a sleepyhead, love." "I'm so worried because she told me that it was so hot in her room." Ngumuso ako. "Madali lang mainitan. Malakas na nga ang aircon sa kwarto n'ya. We should stop spoiling her." I raised my brows to him. "Kaya ba?" Nagkatinginan kami at tumawa. "I'll prepare her breakfast," sabi ko at tumayo na. I kissed his forehead before I went to the kitchen. I baked some cookies for Hailey and then I prepared her milk, this is her favorite breakfast. "Mommy! Mommy! Good morning, mom!" malakas at matinis na sigaw ng anak ko. She ran towards me. Kinarga ko s'ya at hinalikan sa noo. She's wearing her blue pajama. "Goodmorning, sweetie. Eat your breakfast," I said. She started eating her food, "Mom? Where's dad?" I wiped the milk on her lips "He's on the balcony. Mommy will take you to her work later, okay?" I smiled at her. Kumunot ang noo niya at sumulyap sa'kin. "Why, mom?" she asked. "Daddy needs to go to Manila. He needs to visit your tita Ylena, " I explained. "Okay. I hope it's not hot in your hospital, mom." I chuckled. "Goodmorning, nurse!" Hailey greeted the nurse. Lahat ng nadadaanan namin ay binabati n'ya. My daughter is so friendly. I'm scared that she might get kidnaped because of being too friendly to other people. Being friendly isn't bad but still. "Mommy, can you let me play with your phone while you're working?" she asked cutely. I smiled then nodded. "Of course, but you need to behave okay?" Ngumiti s'ya. Pagkarating sa opisina ko ay pinaupo ko s'ya sa sofa. Inilatag ko ang mga pagkain na dinala ko kung sakaling magugutom s'ya. I can leave Hailey here in my office alone. Hailey is a good kid so I know that she can handle herself very well. She actually has a nanny but the nanny got sick so I have to bring her here. yance can't bring her to Ylena's house since she can't travel right now. "Bye, mommy!" Hailey beamed and waved her hands. I smiled at her before I closed the door of my office. "Goodmorning, doc!" the nurse greeted. "Hey, Good morning," I said. I continue walking towards the ward two-where my patients are staying. I pouted before I entered the door. Halos lahat ng nasa loob ay napatingin sa'kin. There are four kids playing on the floor. They're wearing hospital gowns. My heart feels so warm while looking at them. "Uh... good morning," I smiled. "Goodmorning, dok! ikaw ba iyong bagong doktor ng mga bata?" one of the two nannies asked. I nodded. "Hello, ma'am!" the other one said. I smiled at them. "Uh! I saw her earlier, Yaya! She's with a kid," the kid with curly hair innocently said. "Hello, kids. I'm doctor Rivera." Nakangiting sabi ko sakanila. "I'm Saiven! That's my twin Saiver," he raised his hands. "Hello po, I'm Kyla." "I-I'm L-Leo," bulol na sabi nung pinakabata. They're just so cute. I'm sure, my daughter will love to play with them. I should bring her here later so that she can play while I'm working. "Doc, anak mo po ba yung kasama mo kanina?" Kyla asked. "That's dirty, Saiven! Naku! papagalitan ka na naman ng mommy mo!" sabi nung yaya ni Saiven at pinusan ang kamay niya. "A-ah yeah. She's my daughter," I chuckled awkwardly. "Mary ang pangalan ko, ma'am. Yaya ako ng kambal.'' "Nice to meet you po," I uttered. "Ay, ma'am! Ako si Lara. Si Kyla at Leo ang binabantayan ko." I shake hands with the two of them, "I need to check their vitals.” "Gano'n ba ma'am? O' sige po. kids, go back to bed," utos ni Lara sa mga bata. Dahan dahang bumalik ang mga bata sa kanya kanya nilang mga kama. After I check their vitals, I bid my goodbye. I'm so happy that this hospital accepted me immediately. It's not that I need to work, It just that I can't stay at home for too long. I assist so many patients in just four hours. I shook my head. I bought food for Hailey, I bet she's already hungry. Sana ay ayos lang ang anak ko. I pushed the door slowly. "Mommy!" I heard my daughter say, She ran towards me and gave me a hug. I stilled when I saw someone sitting on the sofa, looking at me darkly. What is he doing here? Why is he here? My heart sank. Memories of yesterday flashed back. I sighed nervously before I took a look at the PT. My jaw dropped when I saw two red lines. Oh my gosh! I'm pregnant! I'm f*****g pregnant! So this is the reason why I'm emotional these past few days huh? I'm going to be a real mom. I'm gonna take care of my baby. Ibibigay ko sakanya ang lahat ng pagmamahal na kaya kong ibigay at iparamdam. I will love her unconditionally. I ran towards my brothers happily and showed them the pregnancy test. Nanlaki ang mata ni kuya Yvo. "Y-you're..." Naiiyak na tumango ako. "I'm pregnant, kuya." I hugged him tightly. Suminghap si kuya Cullios na tila hindi makapaniwala sa sinabi ko. I feel so happy. I'm having a baby. I'm a mother now. Kuya Yvo looks so happy while Cullios is still shocked. Bumitaw ako kay Yvo at niyakap si Cullious, "Ha! I'm an uncle now! s**t!" Cullious said in disbelief. Kuya Yvo kneel in front of me and kissed my belly "Be nice to mommy, little angel," he said sweetly. It feels so warm. "We will take care of her," Cullios said and kissed my forehead. "Does Weigan know?" Yvo asked. We sat on the sofa. I smiled and shook my head. "Sasabihin ko sakan'ya sa birthday n'ya kuya," nakangiting sabi ko. I'd never thought that I can be a mother. I thought I can't bear a child since my body is so weak. I'm so thankful that God gave me this blessing. "That fucker will be surprised." Kuya Yvo smirked. "Ilang months na?" Kuya Cullious asked. "I still don't know. Magpapacheck up ako bukas." I smiled. Tumango silang dalawa. "You should," Kuya Yvo said. "Sasama 'ko. Hindi pwedeng mag isa ka lang," It was Kuya Culliuos. I grinned and nodded. "I will call kuya Lucas and Lucius later to tell them about it," I said. "Lucas will rush here." Kuya Cullious chuckled. I chuckled then nodded. Of course, they will. Sigurado akong matutuwa sila pag nalaman nila. The twin knows how much I wanted to have a baby. The four of them will be great uncles to my baby. "What do you think is the gender?" Kuya Cullious asked Yvo. "Girl. I want the baby to be a girl." Ngumisi si Yvo. Napatango si Cullious "I need to save up money now, I'm sure she will always ask for toys." Cullious smiled. I laughed. "Hindi sana maging magastos." "It's fine if she wants to waste money, we're rich." Kuya Yvo shrugged. Sumimagot ako at inirapan s'ya. "Ayoko nga ng magastos, kuya!"  "I will hire a driver for you, hindi ka na pwedeng magdrive," Kuya Yvo said. Tumango ako at ngumiti. Everything feels so right and perfect. Hinimas ko ang t'yan ko. I'm gonna give you everything in this world, baby. "Mommy, he said, he's your friend," Hailey said but I couldn't answer her. Since when we became friends? His jaw clenched. Bumaba ang tingin niya kay Hailey at lalong dumilim ang mata n'ya at ibinalik muli sa akin dahilan para mag tama ang mga mata namin.  I covered Hailey's ear "She's not yours," I said icily.
