"She's the youngest law student here, huh?" I heard the girl whisper while looking at me.
I'm walking towards the room. Students are talking about me since I get in. I can't didn't expect that I'm this famous. I smiled when I finally found my room. I knocked and slowly opened the door. I saw a man standing there in front of the students. only I guess he's the professor.
The room is huge. It's like the room in the Korean drama Law school. Everything looks so expensive but Canada is still better.
Students inside the room started the o murmur and talk about me.
"What do you need, Ms.?" The prof asked.
''I'm Vida Rivera po. I'm the transferred student from Canada," I said politely with a serious face.
His eyes widen ''Oh... Introduce yourself, Ms. Rivera." Suminghap sya at tumingin sa mga studyante.
Naglakad ako papunta sa gitna habang iniisa isa ang mga mukha nila. Halos lahat sila ay halatang mas matanda sa'kin.
''I'm Vida Sierra Rivera, just call me Vida," malamig na sabi ko.
The guy from the corner raised his hand
''How old are you?" He asked innocently.
''She's just seventeen," the other girl said.
"She's very famous, how come that you didn't know?"
"Enough! You can take your seat, Ms. Rivera," The prof said. "The youngest doctor huh?" He murmured.
I rolled my eyes and sat on the first row, where I can clearly hear things.
They're right. I'm just seventeen and I'm the youngest doctor. Others think that it's bullshit but it's the truth. I belong to those people who are gifted with intelligence. After graduating, I started studying again but this time, I'm studying law.
My dream is to be a lawyer but I studied med because my family owns hospitals. Maybe these people think that I don't belong here because I'm younger than them but they're very much wrong because I can surpass them.
"You'll meet your professor later so be nice," Mr. Frank said before he went out of the room.
I sighed. I opened my phone, the good thing there's free wifi here. This school is really something. There's a chat from my friends, Lucas and Lucius.
Darla Guerrera
Make sure that you will fetch us.
Vida Rivera
I'm not your maid
Darla Guerrera
Whatever.
Primrose Villarde
Nasa hotel na kami!
It's so pretty here! Everyone seems to be so friendly though.
Vida Rivera:
Every Filipino are friendly.
Primrose Villarde:
Pilipino lawyers aren't friendly.
I chuckled. She's right.
I shifted my head when someone poked my arms. Nakataas ang kilay na lumingon ako.
''You look younger than I thought," he said innocently while looking at me like a kid
. I scanned his face. He has this pointed nose, red lips, and dark green eyes. He has glasses too. I can say that he's one of those nerd students here. A soft and innocent-looking nerd. He's wearing a white polo and ripped jeans with his black sneakers. He looks so professional. I raised my brows at him.
"I'm Troy David Perez," he offered his hand. Tumango ako at nakipag kamay sakanya. He looks nice but I shouldn't trust him easily. People who know the law very much aren't really trustworthy, some of them yes.
"Vida," I simply said.
"Your achievements are so good," he complimented.
I smiled fakely.
"So why did you take law? I mean... you could work already ao I'm curious," I pouted "I want to be a lawyer. How about you?"
''My father was blamed for the crime that he didn't commit. My family is poor that's why we aren't able to get him out of the jail," his eyes became dark. "The family of the victim paid the prosecutor that's why my dad was jailed"
My jaw clenched. The victim's family bribed the prosecutor so that his father will be jailed huh? f*****g justice system. Those who are in the higher position will break the law so that they will go higher. Many people can f*****g turn their back on their principles for money, fame, and position.
"People aren't fair," I murmured.
He smiled and nodded. "Let's have lunch?" Aya nya.
I collected my things. I shook my head, not because I'm not interested to have lunch but because I need to pick up my girls.
Tumaas ang kilay n'ya.
"I need to go somewhere."I smirked.
Tumayo ako at kinuha na ang bag. I started typing a message for Primrose.
Me:
I'm coming!
I turned off my phone after I sent that.
"Hey! Wait!" I heard Troy's voice.
Hinihingal na naglakad sya kasabay ko.
I raised my brows to him.
"Where are you going?" He asked.
He's holding two law books in his hands.
"I'm going to pick up my friends,'' I answered.
"Great. Hatid na kita.'' He smiled.
I shot up my brow.
"You trust me easily.'' I shook my head.
"You're trustworthy, I know."
I glance at him. "How can you say so?" I mocked.
Lawyers, prosecutors, judges, and law students are examples of people that you shouldn't trust easily. It's not that they all have a bad motive but people who know something about law are dangerous. Sometimes, those who are responsible to obey the law are the ones who are breaking it. Nagkibit balikat s'ya.
''You look good.
I sighed and shook my head. "You're dumb."
Parang bata na nagsalubong ang kilay nya.
I rolled my eyes.
He opened the passenger seat for me. He started driving while I'm looking outside. My forehead creased when I realized something. Kunot noo ko s'yang binalingan.
''If you're poor then why do you have a freaking car?" Naguguluhan na tanong ko.
He chuckled. "My brother gave this to me," he answered.
I nodded.
"Edi you're rich na?"
He bit his lips then shook his head
. "My brother is the only rich. He's paying for my tuition fee."
Ah. His brother is so nice. He parked the car in the parking lot. We're now walking in the hallway of the hotel.
"Here it is." I stopped in front of room five while Troy's just following me.
I pressed the doorbell three times. Slowly, the door opened. Primrose welcomed me with her tight hug. She's wearing a black tube dress hugging her sexy body and black high-tight boots. Her hair was tied into a messy bun.
"I missed you!" Maingay na sabi nya.
I smiled. "I miss you too,"
Her brows lift up while looking at Troy who is scanning the hallway like a lost kid.
"Ilang araw ka palang dito may boyfriend ka na," medyo bulol na sabi nya at ngumisi.
I rolled my eyes. She's making an issue! I pulled her and Troy inside the room. I saw Darla drinking juice while sitting on the sofa.
"Hello! I'm Primrose, what's your name?" She asked Troy.
They shaked their hands.
"Troy David,'' malamig na sabi ni Troy.
Tumaas ang kilay ko. Why is he so cold to Primrose? He's nice to me. I'm sure they haven't met before so he doesn't have a reason to be cold to her. Seriously? Is he bipolar or something?
"How old are you?" Prim probed.
"Twenty-two," malalim ang boses na sagot ni Troy.
I smiled awkwardly and glanced at Darla.
"You didn't tell me that you will come here." I raised my brows to her.
She looked at me boredly
"I'm sure Lucas or Lucius already told you."
I chuckled and nodded. Of course, Lucas did. "Yah! Why are you answering my questions shortly?"
"You're nosy, old lady."
Primrose dramatically covered her mouth.
"Old lady! I'm just twenty-five, prick!" She hissed at him.
Tumingin sa'kin si Troy at sumimangot. He looks like a puppy who's asking for help.
I shook my head. They're acting like kids!
"Alright, Primrose, leave him alone. He might throw you out of his car later.'' Ngumiwi ako.
"You didn't bring your car?" It was Darla.
"I don't have a car remember? Eighteen below aren't allowed to drive here.''
"Let's go na! This kid is pissing me off." Prim rolled her eyes.
I looked at Troy with an apologetic expression on my face. He just nodded. Troy helped us to carry the things of Darla and Primrose. I skipped my evening class for the girls and Troy, Troy skipped it too. Primiera continued ranting about Troy until we got to the mansion.
"Let's go inside? I'm sorry for Primrose. She's nice naman."
"I'm sure she will apologize soon and you should respect her because she's older than you," I added.
He sighed "Alright. I'll go now."
"Thank you again, Troy," I smiled. I closed the gate. Alright, Troy is trustworthy. He's nice. Mahaba ang pasensya nya. If I'm him, I would probably slap Primiera.
I entered the living room and saw my grandfather and brothers talking with the girls. Primrose is the only one who's answering and Darla looks so bored, well, she's always bored. Lumapit ako at umupo sa tabi ni Darla.
''What's your work, hija?" Lolo asked Primrose.
"I'm a judge, sir. Darla is a lawyer," Primrose answered politely.
"That's why she's talkative,'' I heard Cullious whisper. Lolo chuckled
"My Vida is taking law too," he proudly said.
"What about her brothers po?" Darla asked all of a sudden.
Lahat kami ay napatingin sakanya.
"Ah... Yvo is a prosecutor and Cullious is a lawyer." lolo answered.
I rolled my eyes at them.
"Mga anak! And'yan na pala kayo!" Yaya Gina said excitedly and hugged Primrosed and Darla.
''We came here to see you, yaya." Primrose kissed her cheeks. Yaya chuckled.
"Ang ganda ganda mo talaga, Primiera, hija."
Primrose winked at her.
"Kumain na ba kayo?" Yaya asked. They both nodded.
Yaya Gina knows Primrose and Darla because we grew up together. Their parents always leave them to yaya when we were young that's why the three of us are so fond of yaya.
"Ang mabuti pa ay pagpahingahin mo muna ang mga kaibigan mo, Vida," lolo suggested.
"We prepared the guestroom for them," Cullious said.
"No, they will sleep in my room." I smiled sweetly.
We went to my room with yaya. Yaya started to arrange their things in the walk-in closet inside my room.
"You really brought your spoiled attitude here, huh?" Primrose mocked.
I shrugged. I don't understand why they are calling me a spoiled brat every time. I'm trying to be a good girl, kidding.
"Your house is so big. I'm loving it here," Prim said smiling.
"You didn't tell us that you have brothers," Darla raised her brows.
I looked away. Right, I never told them anything about my brothers. They know everything about me but they don't know that I have siblings here. They don't know about my lolo. Well, I was too traumatized to tell them.
"I forgot." Ngumiwi ako.
What a lame excuse. Of course, Darla won't bite it. She's not a Lawyer for nothing. She's a brainiac so a lame excuse won't bite her.
"I'm not really close with them. I almost forgot them when I moved to Canada. Naalala ko nalang sila nung sinabi sakin ni daddy na uuwi ako rito." I sighed.
I was so young when I left El Rancho that I nearly forget about this place. If I were to choose, I would have chosen to forget this place.
She smiled at me. "It's fine."
