I AM KING ARTHUR

CHAPTER 1 Sleepy Hollow Beneath the depths of my sorrow lies the chamber of my soul. The kind of sorrow I wish I never found out. The light was nowhere and everything seems dark as I run along to the shores of the wickedness. The waves hits my bare feet. My dress was rotten tussled and loses its tightness around my waist. The path had shown unto me and as I seek it with great need and urgency, I stumbled on my foot. “The queen has escaped! Find her!” The King’s general shouted. I gasped for an air as I tremble in fear. With my very best plan, I hide in a big rock. Any minute from now, I know that they will find me. They will find the queen who murdered their king. “I found her crown!” One of the royal guards shouted and wailed the crown I had lost earlier. I bite my lips to stop myself making any noise. “She’s not yet far. The traces of her scent are still here. All of you, don’t stop looking!” Another shout came from the general. “Her scent is all over the shore. We will find her for sure before dawn!” “Release the dogs!” Silently, I clasped my hands together. They will find me if I will not run away from here. They already released the werewolves to find my scent. I cursed silently. Trembling and scared, I silently make a backward step. The werewolves are now on an alert mode. One mistake and they will surely feast on my flesh like a rat. I am surrounded and I don’t know what to do anymore. I’m slowly losing hope. I made a step backward while my eyes wandered to the guards. They are searching every big rock they had found. Vampires! This is how I called these creatures. I am their Queen but I am not one of them. I am neither vampire nor a werewolf. I am something not in between but I am far worse once I have awakened. I’ve never known my origin since I came in this world. No knowledge and wisdom about my very existence. And now that I am hunted with a false accusation and unadmittable crime, I don’t know who will be my friends and my enemies are. With my remaining courage, I then carried the hem of my long dress to start running while they are still away from me. But a werewolf notice my presence, it snatched its neck towards my direction. I stopped running and hitched my breath when I saw him move closer to me. I recognized him as a male because of his paled silvered eyes. Like a typical werewolf, he was big and looks unforgiving. His sized are twice more than any werewolves I’ve ever seen. He was even senselessly violent in every growl he makes. I then closed my eyes as I slowly embrace my death when he advance at me with indifferent psychic. But nothing comes along in between my silence. Instead, I felt a warm and wet thing on my face. The young werewolf licks my face. My heart stopped when he bowed down in front of me like he’s telling me to ride on his back. “Please, your Majesty. We’ve got no time. We must hurry!” I heard a whisper on my head. When I looked down at him, I saw his eyes twinkled with hope and bravery. Without even thinking straight, I held on his soft fur and ride on his back while the guard’s visions haven’t still found us. The werewolf immediately run along to the dark forest resides between the kingdom and the forgotten village where creatures from the different races are abandoned. “Why are you helping me, slave?” I asked him despite of the promiscuous situation we have. “You are betraying your masters. It won’t take long before they’ll know everything and you’ll surely be silvered and killed.” “I only serve one master.” I was right. He was the one who whispered at me earlier. But why do we have a mind link? I am not a werewolf! I then heard a chuckle on my ears. “You are more than that, my Queen.” “Where are you taking me?” The dark forest is not a playground for anyone. This forest was once called the hell of deception. A dark wizard once cursed this forest and whoever shall stepped foot in this very unholy land shall have a tainted and filthy soul. If not strong enough, she or he will forever be eaten by the forest itself. Every hideous spirits lies in this forest and whoever shall be claimed by their deception shall be their meal. “We must turn around! If we continue this journey ahead, we will both rot in that swamp.” I ordered and pointed the dark and slimy swamp ahead of us. “No one will harm you here. Trust me, my Queen.” Oddly, I find his voice familiar. “This is the only route for you to reach there.” There? Where exactly is this stubborn werewolf taking me? I can’t believe I was immediately deceived by him. “Aren’t you afraid? Your scent might lead us to the King’s guard. You are risking your life for me… for nothing.” I said to him in the purpose of awakening his senses. I have the will to live but if my faith chooses to reside on my death, then I got no choice to die. I am a Queen but I have no power. No council that I can call as my own. I lived honorably and envied by women in the kingdom but my death always was certain. When I roamed my eyes around the foggy forest, my heart immediately filled with sadness and pain. We are lost! Once you are lost, you can never get out where you started. Everything in here was dark. The trees are very tall and spooky. The roots are very large and lively. Scattered corpses are everywhere. Some were already rotten and wormed. Brutal and painful death was given to these pity souls. Scavengers also hunts here everywhere. This is the very place where royalties shouldn’t enter. “We are not lost, my Queen. As long as you’re here with me, every guardian always finds their path.” He speaks again, calmly. My forehead knotted darkly. “Don’t speak in riddle to me, slave. For am I the kind of a queen who has no used for that.” I can’t help to raise my voice. He didn’t reply back. Instantly, I heard him growled to someone in front of us but when I lifted my head, I saw no one but trees. The mourning of his howl makes a noise all over the forest. The land quaked with an incredible speed. I then hold my hand tight on his fur. With a lighting struck through us, I gaped openly when I finally saw the path. How is that even possible? A werewolf like him can’t possess this kind of magic. “But you can, my Queen.” “Stop reading my thoughts, you insolent creature!” I shouted at him with my firm voice. I thought he would held his silence long while we are running but I heard him howled again and when I looked back I saw the trees moves and the path was now gone as we run passed through it. “You are not just an ordinary shape shifter, are you?” I asked surprised. He nodded. “Where are you from? How did you become a slave?” “I never said I was a slave, my Queen. But my apologies, I can’t carry you far away from here anymore.” He then stopped. My lips parted when I looked upon the horizon. “W—what is this place?” “It’s the place where you will find your true purpose. Welcome to Sleepy Hollow, my Queen.” I glance at him. “I have to go now.” “Wait!” I stop him. He stopped. “Why are you helping me?” I saw his eyes twinkle again. “I only serve my master.” He answered which I don’t understand. “Until we meet again, your Majesty.” Then he vanished in the air leaving me wanting for an answer.
